it was many hours ago since I followed storyline...
Um - stilshrine... you still probably about 8 or 10 hours of game play to go, about a handful of areas to travel before you get to balfonheim. when i did negalmuur, it was a huge pain to not have the right gambits. but hopefully you will randomly find a chest that will have something similar to HP <3000 that you can use. i am not 100% about the balfonheim gambit shop so check every town you hit along the story. If you do run into negalmuur and attack him by accident, casting Dark will heal him so you can keep him alive if less-than-perfect gambit setup goes a little wacky. but from experience, that was not a lot of fun and so manual that it wasn't even worth the time.

That because Basch is the tanker, he have quite lot defense compare to other and he'll be last longer with the sword and shield. You can use other characters to attack Negalmuur, is all up to you to decide which one better for yourself. The guide trick is just the example, no need to copy that way 100%.

I got the gambit
I think it should be noted that you can aquire all the gambits you need (except the after Mt. Bur-mice ( I cant remember the name, its directly north of nalbina. I've been having some problems with it though, like all three of my characters casting charge and then having it fail and going around with 0 mp with the whole party... ------------------- Do not fear the reaper... I tried this out for kicks on a new game... it definitely takes awhile for 60+, but as long as you don't have any electricity issues, you should be fine. My first attempt failed because the power shut off...wasted a whole days worth of leveling.
And Demonic Raider, you don't have to worry about the fluctuation with your MP...when it doesn't miss, you get a reasonable amount to cast whatever is needed, not to mention that after chaining over or around a hundred, the drops include HP/MP healing that they tend to pick up by themselves.

quote Alastor1996It does work very well. If you want to survive longer, buy 99 remedies and set gambit to the leader party only to let you levelling for long time.

I had finished chaining for a while, my sister wanted to use the PS2. So when I got back on, I decided I would sell the loot I got. When I got back into the first area by touchign the portal, there were 2 monsters. One was, I think, Wraith Claw...something like that and the other was Wraith mage...I think...I can't exactly remember the names. What I do remember though, is they started casting Blizzaga on my group and killing me. It took me three tries to get out. Does anyone know why they spawned there? They're still there when I came back too.

Those two were there for me during my return trip as well, and even though I defeated them (barely), they were there again every time I used the portal. I found that if you use a quickening on the MAGE first, take him out, the other just mainly does physical attacks and you just tank him out. But that mage must go first. One trick I have found is to cast raise on them, or maybe use a phoenix down on them; since they are undead, this acts instantaneously. Did this on Negalmuur and it just erased him instantaneously. These two are definately tough together.

Here's another idea for those around level 45+......
Equip one of your people with the thief's cuffs, and make his Foe:hp<3000 gambit set with steal. You steal the Paramina Crossbow. I know that after getting 99 of the pebble, festering flesh, dark magicite, and teleport stone that it only comes out to 60000 gil or so. Not sure what the crossbow sells for, but hey, any extra gil is good gil.

I always forget about using curatives on the undead - that's a great idea. Those guys kicked my tail plenty of times before I was finally leveled up enough to fight and not just flee.
I've done the auto level four times now and even though some might think that it makes the game less interesting to play when your team is at such a high level - I find it easier to focus on stealing good loot and fully explore areas without the fear of death looming over my shoulder. Plus! All that extra gil means being able to buy what I want when it becomes available! you're right - quote

worked out really nice here, about 14 lvls from 9:30pm to 5:54am (next day), was in 37 to lv 51 (without the embroidery, and not haste negalmur) it just stoped couse i run-out of remedies. About 1800 LP's, (second party with golden amulet, 99 teleport stones, 99 festering flesh, 66 float motes, 99 dark magicite, and 999 chain..
Everything came Just as the first post said, i get all the gambits, and all was just fine. I will recomend doing this over lvl 30, 3 deathbringers, nice armors, buble belt... and everYthing just has to work really nice. NO FAIL i even kill negalmuur one time, and respawn as they said. THANKS... Tonight.. i level the second party

So I got it all to work out. my gambits where set I found The guy and began fighting him. well I went back and save then went back and fought some more, I leveled up probably 12 times and my battle chain was at like 325 (the last time I looked) but then my boyfriend tripped on something and of course killed the power to my playstation..... Now Negalmuur isnt showing up anymore...... What should I do?

[Possible Spoiler...doubt it though heh...]
I just have one question. I haven't killed Zeromus yet in the game i'm trying to do this trick in and I used the teleport once and it took me right to Zeromus. So do i have to kill it first then I can do this trick or doesn't it matter? BTW the teleporter takes me all the way down to the "secret" room below the area you get the sword in.
