re: "Auto-Leveling Trick" - leave PS2 "on" overnight to gain 50+ levels

Well, getting the guy to spawn is easy, easy. He has spawned 3/3 times I went in there. Only problem is, I don't have the Foe: HP > 3000 gambit. I fled the scene, teleported to Rabanastre/Bhujebra/Nalbina (although there's not much before the Stillshrine is finished), etc., and no gambit shop sells these. I have Foe: HP > 2000, but of course the ghasts have more HP than that.

So, I'll need to be more creative. What about Foe: HP = 100% - Haste? Any other suggestions? Is the Nebulmaar (or whatever) an undead? If not, the ghasts are (I think), and I could do targeting undead. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

i think i got hp=>3000 in a treasure box =/ this may not help, but if you have that part down and want to haste the leader dude, you can use foe:highest hp which sells in rabanastre, rather than foe hp>10000

Yeah, that's my problem is that currently there are no gambits selling that are larger than Foe: HP > 2000. I'll try the one you mentioned.

I thought this "auto leveling" trick was too good to be true but tried this thing last night and within just a couple of hours had a 999 chain accomplished. Just make sure you have remedies and smelling salts aplenty, almost screwed myself by not stocking up beforehand. So, hats off to the discoverer of this killer utilization of the gambit system - 100% awsome.

It's Foe: HP < 3000 that you need, Foe: HP > 3000 will have you attacking Negalmuur too, you don't want that.

re: "Auto-Leveling Trick" - leave PS2 "on" overnight to gain 50+ levels

This is still kind of in the testing process, but so far it seems to work well. If you dont have the large amounts of remedies to spare, make sure your party all has the raise ability and for one of the members (not the party leader) to have decoy. Instead of casting decoy on 2/3 of the party, just cast it on one of them and set everybody to ally:any raise. This will cause the decoyed member to always be the one receiving doom, therefore being the only one dying for the most part.

Dont spam me if im wrong, im just giving it a try and so far it works well.

k7ypto, using Decoy in only 1 member is too risky. Since that member will always get KO'd, there will be a greater chance now for Negalmuur to cast Doom on the leader. (which we don't want).

But if you stick with the setup in the first page, even though one member (with decoy) dies out, and assuming that on that same time Neg casts doom, the other member with decoy gets Doomed (instead of a chance it goes to the leader).

I ran this for a total of 14 hours or so yesterday, and I only went through ~30 remedies. They only cost 400 gil each, just save up and buy a good stack of them and you can level for a long, long time. I started at level 33 and was up to level 46 in about 6 hours.

re: "Auto-Leveling Trick" - leave PS2 "on" overnight to gain 50+ levels

do ya know what sucks big hairy cow muffins? I got the Neg to spawn my first time running through the place when trying to complete the storyline. I didn't kill him and just flee'd everytime I passed him. He appeared EVERYTIME I entered the room. (I was thinking "great now that he is here I can start the trick just after I finish the storyline)
ANywayz I go back to Mt. bur to kill the judge boss there to get new weapons to start the neg trick. Now I cannot get him to spawn. I try for 20 minutes at a time, go stretch or sumtin, then attempt to run through there to spawn him again. nada, zip, nothin. Did I miss my chance to spawn him from my first run-through? grrr.

You can respawn him infinite times I think. Check the first page for details of how.
