Full Info-Feb.21st, 2003 -4 bios addedScreens-Last updated Feb.13th 2003 (21) Batman: Dark Tomorrow employs a storyline created specifically for the game by DC Comics. Police Commissioner Gordon has gone missing, gang violence has peaked, and once again it's up to Batman to save Gotham City. There's a large assortment of familiar enemies and locales, as well as tools and weapons accessible through Batman's utility belt. Character Profiles Real name: Bruce Wayne Height: 6 ft 2 in / 1.89 m Weight: 210 lb / 100 kg Eyes: Blue Hair: Black First appearance: Detective Comics #27 (May, 1939) Batman was created in the blaze of gunfire that took the lives of six-year-old Bruce Wayne's parents. Bruce Wayne was raised by the family butler, Alfred Pennyworth, and had vowed on his parents' graves that he would see to it that others did not have to suffer as he had from crime and violence. The youth dedicated his life to training himself to the peak of mental and physical perfection. He studied tirelessly, mastering criminology and the sciences, as well as psychology. Bruce did not neglect his physical side, training in most known forms of martial arts and other fighting techniques, as well as learning skills of escape and disguise. Years after the death of his parents, Bruce Wayne took to the streets and took his vow to fight crime. His first fight proved a failure, and he barely made it home alive. A bat crashing through his window finally inspired him to create an alter ego, a dark, scary creature of the night to combat the often cowardly and superstitious criminal hordes. He was to become... a bat. Thus, Batman entered Gotham City's war against crime! The Dark Knight fights this war with his wits, his arsenal of state-of-the-art gadgets, and his fists. He fights for justice and for the innocent citizens of Gotham to see evil punished. He lives only in the night, operating from the high-tech environments of the Batcave, far beneath the family manor. Batman does not fight alone. Often at his side can be found such friends and allies as Robin (Tim Drake is the third youth to wear the costume and proud name of the Dark Knight's partner), Nightwing (the original Robin, now a hero on in his own), Oracle, and Commissioner Gordon. In "Batman: Dark Tomorrow," the player will take on Batman's role in a desperate battle aiming at putting an end to a scheme that may alter the world forever. Real name: Cassandra Cain Height: 5 ft 4 in / 1.65 m Weight: 110 lb / 65 kg Eyes: Brown Hair: Black First appearance: Batman #567 (July, 1999) Raised from birth by the world's deadliest assassin, David Cain, Batgirl was never given a name -- what was the point, when neither she nor Cain ever spoke? David Cain believed that deprived of language yet immersed in violence, the child's brain would adapt, using its enormous language center to process movement; in effect, violence became the child's language. Cain also trained her in every known weapon, of course, until the child was a living weapon herself, able to take out a dozen hit men without breaking a sweat. Forced into her first assassination, she fled from Cain, losing herself in Gotham City, until the events of "No Man's Land," when she came to the attention of Barbara Gordon, the original Batgirl. The girl joined Batman and his allies, assuming the identity of Batgirl and the name of Cassandra Cain, becoming a valued and trusted member of Batman's team. In Batman: Dark Tomorrow, we'll see Batgirl in FMV sequences. Real name: Unknown Height: 6 ft 4 in / 1,96 m Weight: 192 lb / 87 kg Eyes: Green Hair: Green First appearance: Batman #1 (Spring, 1940) Beyond good and bad, there is evil. Beyond evil, there is insanity. Beyond insanity... there is The Joker. His past is shrouded in mist. There are theories, there are legends, but no one, not even the Joker himself, really seems sure where he came from. He committed his first crime as the Red Hood, but Batman set an end to his carrier. While he fled, Red Hood fell into chemical waste at a factory, and emerged changed forever by the chemicals. As his face, skin and hair took on the features and hues of an insane clown, so too was his mind forever changed, warped into the deadly persona of The Joker. The Joker has a preference for chemical weapons and "funny" killing methods. He is responsible for the death of the second Robin (Jason Todd) and for firing the crippling shot that's confined Barbara Gordon (Batgirl/Oracle) to a wheelchair. In Batman: Dark Tomorrow the clown appears to be the source of the havoc in Gotham City. But with The Joker, you never know for sure... Real name: Waylon Jones Height: 6 ft 4 in / 1.95 m Weight: 267 lb / 121 kg Eyes: Red Hair: None First appearance: Batman # 357 (January 1984) Killer Croc is a "reptile man" with immense strength. He has razor-sharp teeth and claws, and his alligator-like skin is nearly bulletproof. This skin is the result of Ichthyose, a hereditary disease. He has spent most of his life in prison, for murder and grievous bodily harm. When he was released after 18 years, he worked as an alligator catcher at the Carnival, and for the first time, Jones called himself "Killer Croc". The Dark Knight has to take swimming lessons when he meets Killer Croc in Batman: Dark Tomorrow. Nightwing Real name: Richard "Dick" Grayson Height: 5 ft 8 in / 1,78 m Weight: 175 lb / 79 kg Eyes: Blue Hair: Black First appearance: As Robin in Detective Comics #38 (April, 1940) After his parents -- circus acrobats known as "The Flying Graysons" -- were killed while performing high under the circus big top, Dick was adopted by Bruce Wayne, who shared with him the secret of his alter ego, Batman. With rigorous training, Dick became Robin, Batman's sidekick, and was able to avenge his parent's deaths. Years later, he shortly assumed the mantle of Batman while Bruce Wayne was unable to do his nightly duty. When Dick got older, he decided to strike out on his own and adopted a new identity as Nightwing, protector of the city of Bludhaven. But Nightwing remains ever available to assist his mentor in the fight against crime in Gotham City. In Batman: Dark Tomorrow, Nightwing is referred to in the FMV scenes. Real name: Dr. Victor Fries Height: 6 ft / 1.83 m Weight: 192 lb / 87 kg Eyes: Blue Hair: None First appearance: Batman # 121 (February, 1959) His heart is as cold as ice... Victor Fries was once Gotham's leading scientist. When his beloved wife, Nora, became ill Victor devoted all his energies to finding a cure for her disease. Once it became obvious that he wasn't going to succeed in time, Victor placed Nora in cryogenic slumber, planning to revive her upon discovering a cure. Victor's employer, unfortunately, had no interest in the enormous expense of Victor's research as it showed little hope of profiting any time soon, and he ordered the laboratory to be shut down. Victor begged them not to throw away Nora's only chance at life, but his pleas fell upon deaf ears. A scuffle commenced, Batman arrived and in the ensuing chaos, Nora's chamber was pierced, ending Victor's hopes of happiness forever. In addition, Victor Fries himself was doused with chemicals, resulting in his body temperature plunging to well below zero. Creating for himself an exo-skeleton which enables him to live and grants him super-strength, Mr. Freeze decided to take away from Batman all that he loved, since he believed that Batman had taken away all that he held dear. Claiming that one who is frozen and alone can have no emotions, Mr. Freeze works clinically, striking Batman wherever and whenever he is most vulnerable, heedless to the cost in human life and suffering. Nothing matters to Mr. Freeze save retribution. Real name: Jeremiah Arkham Height: 5 ft 9 in / 1.75 m Weight: 140 lb / 64 kg Eyes: Brown Hair: Grey/White First appearance: Shadow of the Bat #1 (1992) The administrator of Arkham Asylum, a special high security prison designed to house Gotham's all too abundant population of criminally insane super villains. Arkham is a licensed psychiatrist and the nephew of Amadeus Arkham, who founded the Asylum in 1921. In Batman: Dark Tomorrow, we'll see him in FMV and playable scenes. Real name: Pamela Lillian Isley Height: 5 ft 6 in / 1.68 m Weight: 119 lb / 54 kg Eyes: Green Hair: Chestnut First appearance: Batman # 181 (June, 1966) Beautiful to look at but deadly to touch. Pamela Isley was a brilliant botany student until the day an experiment went horribly wrong and left her with a physiognomy more plant-like than human. Blessed -- or cursed -- with an almost supernatural ability to control plant life, Isley also controls her pheromones to deftly manipulate human emotion. Unfortunately for most people, her touch is acidic and her kiss is so desirable yet it is ultimately deadly. Emotionally divorced from normal human concerns, Poison Ivy drifted towards the natural world. Once there, she found man's existence intruding intolerably into the paradise of nature, destroying it for monetary gain. Thus Poison Ivy became an eco-terrorist of the most radical kind. Her feelings towards Batman are complex: she hates him because he represents mankind and protects people, while simultaneously admiring and respecting him, as well as being attracted to him, perhaps because he may be the only man on the planet who has been able to resist her allure... thus far. Poison Ivy is a formidable thief and a stubborn fighter dedicated to the protection of Mother Nature. But her first and foremost goal is to win the love of the Dark Knight himself. Batman has to uproot Ivy's "house plant" in Batman: Dark Tomorrow. Real name: Renee Montoya Height: 5 ft 5 in / 1.65 m Weight: 124 lb / 56 kg Eyes: Brown Hair: Dark Brown First appearance: Batman #361 (July 1983) Renee Montoya was one of the few police officers to stay behind in ravaged Gotham City after the big Earthquake (No Man's Land). A brave, trusted and upstanding officer, Montoya is one of the GCPD's most decorated cops. In Batman: Dark Tomorrow, we'll see her in FMV sequences. Real name: James Gordon Height: 5 ft 9 in / 1.75 m Weight: 126 lb / 57 kg Eyes: Blue Hair: formerly Brown, now White First appearance: Detective Comics #27 (May 1939) Jim Gordon became a cop in Chicago and learned quickly that to get ahead you have to play the game. Gordon decided at that point he was never going to get ahead, because playing games wasn't his style. His style was to do the right thing, regardless of the cost. Gordon transferred to the Gotham police --- and first encountered Batman --- only to find that department more riddled with corruption than Chicago's. But a few high profile cases and a reform mayor looking to clean up the department led to Gordon's eventual rise to the position of Police Commissioner. Commissioner Gordon continued his secret alliance with Batman who, like Gordon, did the right thing without having to play the petty politics and he got things done. Batman could never operate effectively without the cooperation of the police commissioner, and Gotham would fall apart were it left solely to its still corrupt police department, despite its stellar commissioner, and without the aid of the Dark Knight. In "Batman: Dark Tomorrow," we'll see Commissioner Gordon both while playing and in FMV scenes. Real name: Roman Simonis Height: 6 ft 1 in / 1,85 m Weight: 196 lb / 88,9 kg Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown First appearance: Batman # 386 (August 1985) Roman Simonis, now known as crime boss Black Mask, wears the ebony death mask carved from his father's own coffin. Controlling the False Face Society of Gotham, Black Mask and his men seek to rule the Gotham underworld. Black Mask is on the run and trying to hide in a warehouse in "Batman: Dark Tomorrow."
