[Gimli]
Slow and short, the dwarf excels at close combat. His health gauge is the highest of the three, but his lack of height restricts him from doing serious damage. It'll be really painful to max him out, but once you do so he's pretty decent. Is biggest problem at the end is the painfully slow speed at which he throws his axes. Clearly his battle scale is tipping in the directiong of close combat.

[Legolas]
The complete opposite of Gimli, Legolas can ratchet off 5 arrows before you blink. His close combat is clumsy and weak, and he takes a few attacks just to break a shield, however, if you get his combos down (especially Elrond's Judgement), he'll be pretty formidable in close range. He does get the smallest health bar of all, which is another reason not to use him. His biggest advantage, obviously, is his bow. Like I mentioned before, he can shoot his bow incredibly fast. At least 3 times as fast as Gimli can throw an axe, and probably about 1.75 times as fast as Aragorn can shoot an arrow. He'll get combos that allow him to automatically knock down opponents with his arrows, set them on fire, and even go through to other enemies. Unfortunately, however, if Legolas gets swarmed, he's in big trouble.

[Aragorn]
The happy medium. Many say that Gimli's close combat skills are much better than Aragorn's, but even this isn't very true. Because Aragorn is as tall as most enemies, he has the leverage advantage that Gimli lacks. He can also do much more damage close range than Legolas could dream of doing while still being able to shoot the bow well. Aragorn is the most "balanced" character, but most will find that he's also pretty much the best.

So, what will it be? Who is YOUR favorite character? Mine is Aragorn, and from the above messages you can probably tell I'm a little biased, but of course I'm all for other interpretations. Aragorn just fits my style of combat best, that's all ^^'.

I like Gimli the best. I am a fan of close combat using brute force, and Gimli seems to fit the bill. SO fr I have gotten to Rohan using all three characters, and I only get "perfect" with Gimli, so I guess it is telling me something.

Yeah, I already beat the game with Aragorn getting all perfects (I got it in early January). For me, it's simplest with him, because he just seems to be the best balanced. One advatanage that Legolas has, I must admit, is the fact that he gets into perfect mode much faster than Aragorn, but I still like Aragorn the best ^^'.

Mine is either Gimli or Aragorn, first I love Gimli because his axe rocks, and he slotters the poor orcs everywhere! THen Aragorn, because he's the man!!!!! He's a little bit of bothe gimli and Legolas, and his sword is cool, and his bow is swaeeeeet!! But he has the best banes out of all the characters. THen LEgolas,the only good thing about him is his bow, because his daggers suck.

Legolas by far. At first he sucks, but once you upgrade his bow so it sets them on fire, he is insane. How can u guys noot see how good his bow is. he can take guys without shields in an instant, jsut set em on fire and there dead. And his combos r half decent for the shiled but then again just knock the shield off and shoot the arrow.

Legolas is the best! How can you not like him?

Each character's pros and cons must be equally weighed when selecting a character.

If you like battle in the middle of the fray then you would probably want to go with Gimli or Aragorn. Gimli has the most health (well fitted for melee combat, in addition to sluggish missile weapon attack this makes him a more than ideal fighter at close range) but is slower than the rest of the warriors. He will run slow and fight a bit slower...this is common of any "Battle" game. Strongers guys are more sluggish.

If you want a more balanced fighter, then Aragorn is your main man. He has a mid-range abilities in both hand-to- hand combat and with the bow and arrow. This is a good character for beginners and people who want to explore more range of gameplay. You can fight nose to nose and from afar. He is mid-range with speed and power.

The last character is Legolas. Legolas is great with a bow...unlike the movie, the bow is not a great melee weapon unless you are really good at quick aiming with stronger arrows. Legolas is great for fighting at a distance where your opponents will be dead before they reach you...especially with flaming or Mithril arrows and the Lothlorien bow. He is the fastest but he has the least life and weakest armor. He can break through shields if you hold the bow longer than a quick shot.

All characters can be devastating when used at what they are best at while utilizing combos. If any single character has the bane of any enemy...then you are just as much a scrapper at close range as the next guy. So, in closing: utilize combos, upgrade weapons, and definitely purchase the rising attack ASAP.

I have just gotten an xbox aswell as the lord of the rings games (Fellowship, two towers, and return of the king)
My birthday is 7th november, this sunday so i havent played this game yet

My favorite character is Legolas, but only by an inch over Aragorn, and i do like Gimli.
Basically im gonna kick some major ass with Legolas. Although i will be Aragorn a lot aswell, and gimli sometimes but Legolas will be running the show.

Mine is Legolas cause he rocks and he is faster than Gimli and his bow and arrow fireing is great, then my second fave is Aragon cause he is the fastest and has the best sword, then Gimli he is slow so i dont choose him.
