IF YOU NEED HELP OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT LOST KINGDOMS II POST HERE!!! |
|
Hey guys, I know that there are lot of other threads out there like this, but as I was looking through them I noticed that a lot of questions were being left unanswered. They were also really messy.
So, if you have a question about LKII than just post it here. No pointless comments please (i.e. oh I beat the game in 8 hours). This is not a bragging forum. Thanks, and I hope I can help you. I have beaten the game including all of the side quests, I have gotten all of the cards and red fairys, and I can help with strategies for boss fights if you need them too. <:Snoop Gizz:>

I'm in Obeonix Gorge. I am at the ship and when I step on it I assume that thing coming at me is the boss. I killed it but it just keeps regenerating endlessly.
I'm running out of cards and it won't stop regenerating. Is this a glitch? Also, in Battle Arena 2, I went in the Mech door and fought the first room. When I killed them the doors inside that room opened and I went up a walkway to another door, but the door won't open and it says you forgot to do something. The door at the end of the red carpet hall says the same thing. What is it that I am supposed to do to be able to unlock the door? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Me again.
I was reading in a walkthrough about the second Mech room. This is what it says: "Leod VIII You can only fight him after you have beaten Story Mode (beat the Body of the God)." What are they talking about . . . ? What do they mean by Story Mode? And where is the "Body of the God"? ???

Oh man . . . ! Is it true that you can only get the Chariobot card by capturing it in the timed mission at Alanjeh Castle??? If you don't you're taking a chance that you may miss it in the draw at the end. Also the Barometz as well? I did manage to get two Barometzes in the draw, but when I went back to get the Chariobot for my collection it wasn't there any more.
I'm one of those game players that likes to collect absolutely everything, and then even take all the cards to maximum experience points. So . . . now I won't be able to complete my collection. #%@*&!!! Normally, I would start over again. But I've already put so much work into the game, and collected most of the cards at this point . . . to go back now . . . Now I realize that I have to try to capture the Chariobot---if I can before the time runs out. It seems to take forever to shuffle through the cards to get the ones you want in a hurry---while the clock is counting down before your eyes. And then set up the capture while avoiding being killed. I guess next time I will just have to keep trying again, and again, until I do it and then abort the mission and go back to do the same for the Barometz. That way I know for certain that I will have both of them for my collection. And what's with the Golden Goose (having to capture it in vs mode)? I have one gamecube and one hand set. If I didn't happen to know someone with an extra handset I could borrow I wouldn't be able to finish everything in the game. They should make it so that you can do everything in one person mode. Oh well. *sigh*

LK2player,
In Obenoix Gorge, I believe you are talking about stepping onto the ship and fighting the Thanatos? I can only think of two things: either what you believe to be it respawning may simply be that it is teleporting. The Thanatos teleports around the area a lot, where it sinks into the ground and then pops up somewhere else. As I said, this is simply teleporting, and you must keep attacking it until it is really dead. If this is not the reason, then all I can tell you is that it may be a glitch. In Sacred Battle Arena 2, I believe that the walkthrough you read is right. In order to fight Leod VII, who occupies the second Mech room, you must complete Story Mode. Story Mode is what you are doing as you progress through the game. Stages like Sacred Battle Arena, Obenoix Gorge, Gromtull Desert, etc. are all side quests. The last level of Story Mode is Royal Tower, Upper. At the end of this level, you face the final boss, which is called "The Body of the God." So, when it says that you forgot to do something, it means that you must beat the essential parts of the game first. If this is not the reason, then check your Mech level and make sure that it is at least six. Also, for the room at the end of the red carpet, you may only go through those doors once you have defeated Leod VII as well as both of the Neutral rooms. The Chariobot card is one of only cards in the game that is possible to miss. You can only get it four ways. First, you can use a Capture Card to capture it the Alanjeh Castle level. Remember when using a Capture Card that you must first reduce the enemy monster's health to a tiny red sliver on the bar. You have to do this the first time through the level because that is the only time that the Chariobot appears. The second way is to cross your fingers and hope to get the card on the bonus draw for Alanjeh Castle. If you failed to retrieve by these means, then you may also obtain it through the bonus draw of the first mission in Royal Tower, Lower, which is the mission right after Alanjeh Castle. If you still do not have the card, then you only have two options if you want to get it: either start a new game (I don't recommend it), or find someone who has the Chariobot card, and win it from them in Vs. Mode by betting on it. Sorry to break these bad news to you, but sometimes life is tough.

Well . . . I don't know anyone that has played the game . . . so I guess I'm out of luck.
Does the golden goose only appear once, for about ten seconds . . . ? I followed the directions for capture but I have never played versus mode before. By the time I figured out I was the player on the left, and then tried to figure out which of the teeny tiny cards on the screen were which, and then powered up my Running Bird and Golden Butterfly . . . the thing was gone! I had reset the game before I went in---as per the directions---so that if I missed it on the first try I could try again. Was I supposed to reset it only once at the beginning? Because I have reset it each time and every time I go back it's never there. Does this mean I have lost another card? If so, I am seriously considering starting over, even though it means a lot of work (for me). At least this time I have all that experience behind me and it will be much faster and much easier.

Oh . . . and by the way, "thank you" very much, Snoop Gizz, for taking the time to help me out and answer my questions. You are the first one that has done so, most likely due to the fact that the game has been out for a while now.
Anyway, thanks! | |

re: IF YOU NEED HELP OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT LOST KINGDOMS II POST HERE!!! |

It just dawned on me---I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner . . .
Considering I have already gone to so much time and effort to earn all of these cards, and even went to the boneyard to max out their experience points---not to mention a few not so easy captures---I can simply bet all my cards from my first game over to the new game. That way I should be able to plow right through all that. Although, my maxed out experience, and magic, for Tara probably won't transfer, and if she tried to use a powerful card it might kill her---draining all her magic and HP. When I bet over those maxed out cards it should transfer that experience into the elemental stars (if that's what they're called) but will that translate into experience points for Tara as well . . . for some reason I think not. Obviously, once I do the transfer I will know for sure. I will probably have to wait until I reach the Boneyard and then do a experience point max out for the deck and Tara. For those who haven't tried that, it takes about three to four hours to max out every card in your deck to 99,999. So what I do is set it up and then go watch a couple of movies, or set it up just before I go to sleep, and then when I wake up in the morning it's done. If anyone is still playing the game and is reading these threads, here is one way to max out your gold---if you don't have the option of multiplying your cards through betting in vs mode. When you get the Green, and Amber, Dragons take them to the Boneyard and then max out their experience points. Now you can make nine copies of each. Now you can take those eighteen "new" cards (*don't forget to leave one copy of each in your deck*) and sell them at the card shop for $4,000 each (they copy for only 10,000 experience points). If you manage to use up that money---buying capture cards, or whatever, you probably won't, I don't know---you can simply repeat the process I have described above. Thanks again to Snoop Gizz for starting this thread.

In regards to your problem with the Golden Goose card, I regret to say that I cannot help you much with it. This is because I didn't get my Golden Goose cards from Vs. Mode. The way I got it (and by the way this might work for you LK2player but only if you have LK1) is when I beat Sacred Battle Arena 2 (after beating the Neutral and Mech rooms you can go through the doors at the end of the long hallway and face Thalnos and Katia, two important characters in LK1, and once you defeat them you beat the level).
When you beat Sacred Battle Arena 2, you get a message that says something like, "Would you like to take on Queen Katia's responsibilities?" If you answer yes, then it import your data (all your cards) from LK1 (if you have data on a memory card, you must make sure it is either on the same memory card as LK2 or in the other slot). This is the only chance you have in the entire game to do this, so make sure you do it (unless you don't have LK1). This is also a very good way to get the Jack-O-Lantern card. Some say this is the only way to get it, and others say you can capture it in the Proving Grounds, however I myself have never seen it in the Proving Grounds (which I have played A LOT). So anyways, a long story cut short, that's how I got my first Golden Goose. Also, if you decide to restart the game, I really don't think it would be so bad. If you bet all of your cards over to the second game, you could whiz through the game and get to where you were in a couple of hours probably. Since Tara's experience won't transfer as well, I would start out with strong but cheap cards. Many weapon cards, like the Lizardman cards and the Banshee, are cheap but effective. Also, you can use some of the guides on this site to help you quickly get all of the chests and red fairies. There are some excellent guides on this website, www.neoseeker.com/Games/Products/GC/runeII/faqs.html, like the Golden Goose FAQ, the Card/Item/Combo Collection Guide, and there is also some very good Red Fairy Guides somewhere on the Internet. And, because you already have Transform type cards, you won't have to go back later to get those items that you missed. Glad I could help.

re: IF YOU NEED HELP OR HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT LOST KINGDOMS II POST HERE!!! |

That's a good idea. Before I started the game I accessed every site I could find and printed out every detail regarding the game---as I didn't have a clue what I was supposed to do, or how to do it.
I already have a printout on every chest, where it is, and what's in it---which helps if you don't want to miss the Lucky Lion and wind up with 'another' Hobgoblin instead. I also have the list of red fairies, where they are and how to get them---jump, fly, etc.. A complete list of combos---which I don't see how you would be able to complete unless you knew what they were and that you had to actually use them in order to incorporate them into your list to complete it. I even printed out a complete list of every card and all it's info---that was "a lot" of pages, but boy am I glad that I went to all that effort before I started! And of course a walkthrough---sometimes it wouldn't give enough info though, like there's a cultist in that area, so be prepared. I was literally startled, more than a couple of times, by unsuspected enemies and had to scramble to set up an effective attack. And the golden goose info. The directions suggest that you can get it if you miss it the first time by resetting the game before you start. Perhaps they meant only reset it once before the first try, because resetting it before every try hasn't worked. Also a complete list of every item, fossil part, runestone, key and so on. As to the Jack-O-Lantern, I find it interesting that some people say you can get it in the Proving Grounds, and yet still others say they've never seen it. There really should be a way to get it for people that don't have LK1---like me. I really like this game and have considered getting LK1. If I do manage to find a copy on ebay---like I did this one---then I'll get it. A you say that may be the only way to get that card and complete the collection. At this point I only have nine more cards to get---two of those being the Chariobot and Golden Goose, which I can't access any more, so that's why I'm going to start over. I really like the hints and tips, like one hit from the Vampire card kills The Body of God. I just set up a decoy pillar and then let him have it. It worked like a charm. It went down in one hit. And I did manage to make lots of copies of my one Capture card by using the betting in vs mode method. That's one way to save yourself time and effort if you want copies of cards---like Circasaurus and Doppleganger and so on. I highly recommend that anyone that hasn't played this game yet access all this info first. That way you'll say yourself a lot of grief later when you can't get certain cards like, Lucky Lion, Chariobot and Golden Goose. Once I read about the Decoy Pillar I then used it every time I fought after that. Virtually every fight I could kill whatever I was fighting using a Decoy Pillar and either one, two, or three Catablepases. I would read all of these complicated suggestions and techniques and hear how very hard it was, and then I would go in there with my Decoy Pillar and Catablepases and think: I'll give these a try and see if it works. To my surprise it worked virtually every time! Even that huge dragon at the end of the Fossil Boneyard. Two Catablepases, with a Decoy Pillar, killed the entire lot in a matter of a few seconds---which I must say really shocked me. So "do" make use of the hints and tips section.

For those of you who are wondering, when you transfer your cards over to a new game (by betting in vs mode) all that is transfered is the cards. Nothing else comes with it. No experience points. The only thing that changed was the amount of gold I have for the new game---the new Tara fighting the old one for the cards---that, and Tara's title changed from level one thief to level one Royal Marshal (whatever that is).
Now if I were to transfer the cards back they would be right back to 99,999 experience points again. But experience points, elemental stars and experience, magic and HP for Tara are unaffected. The only way to gain them is by playing the game with the new cards. Just thought you'd want to know.

Has anyone got full elemental stars in all six attributes? And what is the max for each, eight or nine?
I figured I would max out one after the other, say starting with wood, then earth, water and so on. I know when I get to fire that it will start to take down my wood a little bit so I would need to put a bit of wood in there, and then the wood would take down the earth and so on. So put in a little of those as well. Is there an easier way? I know the only way to get elemental stars is by actually fighting with the cards in that attribute. If you max out experience points for your deck it doesn't have any effect on the elemental stars at all.

I read that the Jack-O-Lantern is one of the cards you get in the draw at the end of one of the missions in the Proving Grounds. I don't know which one though.
There are several that don't have all of the draw cards listed. If you refer to the Lost Kingdoms 2 Card, Item, and Combo Collection Guide by MysticWeirdo and zeldafannow, on GameFAQs, you'll see a list of cards from draws but there are some missing. I just found a Demon Lord in the Level 19 draw, so there's one more. If anyone knows which level the Jack-O-Lantern card is on, I'd like to know.

Here are some more missing cards from the Proving Grounds.
Level 6 Bum Hagen Level 8 Gargoyle Level 10 Blood Bush Level 12 Wood Elemental, Dryad Level 13 Phooka Level 14 Red Dragon Level 15 Witchlette, Larval Fly Level 16 Rock Hagen Level 17 Super Pumper Level 19 Demon Lord, Nueh There are still two missing. One on Level 14, and one on Level 18. I'm pretty sure that the one remaining card on 14 is an Amber Dragon---I remember getting one during the first run through. So, the Jack-O-Lantern must be the remaining card on Level 18. This message was edited by LK2player on Mar 04 2007.
