I really don't know, but you could try compatibility mode.
If there was a way you could try it first it would be great, cause then you could use the compatibility mode and try it out. If Vista has Compatibility Mode... Anywho, the way to use the compatibility mode is (and you can use this on ANY program as long as the tab comes up) : 1. After installation, right-click on the desktop icon and select Properties 2. In the Properties window, click on the tab that says Compatibility 3. In the Compatibility sub-window, click the checkbox that says "Run this program in Compatibility Mode for:" 4. The drop down menu below should become selectable now (no longer grayed out) and select Windows XP (if its there, if not then try Windows 2000) Do not select NT, some programs have issues with that version 5. Click Apply 6. Click OK 7. Try starting the game through the shortcut icon on your desktop and have fun! I'm hoping that Vista has this option, its saved my bacon with tons of games that would be slow as molasses running under normal Windows XP (Septerra Core, Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, Myst to name a few) and I had to change the setting to either Windows 98 or 95 Oh, and be careful if you "Alt + Tab" your way out of the program while in Compatibility Mode, it could mess it up a bit when you re-enter, so try it out first only after using the Quick Save just in case. Or after starting the game, but not selecting your char stats yet, just to be on the safe side and not having the frustration of: "what did I have set before!?". ------------------- Please sign Petion to find a cure for AC/SM

Incorrect.
DO choose NT compatibility mode. I don't know about Morrowind, but my old windows 98 games require that mode to run. Win 98 compatibility mode does nothing. Neither does XP mode. NT mode for some reason does, though it's completely illogical that it should. That's using Vista by the way. And note, compatibility mode is usually useless. You just get lucky occasionally. -------------------

I'm running Morrowind on Vista Home Premium with NO problems. Don't even set it to a compatability mode, or to Run as Administrator.

seems to me this kind of stuff has to do with how compatible your graphics card is with vista. that always seems to be the issue
