I'm still at the first town.. and I don't know if I should use the silt strider or go out on foot. I don't know what to do about Fargoth and that hidden stash quest, coz he doesn't seem to go anywhere.. it was already 12 AM and he still didn't move..

When I went to Arggathamus (sp???) door and entered it, I encountered a hostile person. I killed him and went through the door. Next thing I know there's a hostile sorcerer after me. I died...

Help me! What do I do? I was to go to Balmora, but I don't know if I should do some things in the first town first..

Btw, is it ok to kill some non-violent NPCs? Like the one in the lighthouse and some in the huts? I killed the one in the lighthouse and it seemed like nothin' bad happened.. I didn't save it though..

Well, as far as where to go. It is up to you. You could take the silt strider to Dagon Fel for all that matters. (If that strider went there..hehe) Any how, for Fargoth, make sure you talked the the Nord, ie. check again if you accepted the quest. Then go to the light house and wait for a few hours using the wait key. (Fargoth won't move until you are out of wait). Then he will walk to the light house and you can follow him. As to killin' NPCs, if they attack you, by all means kill em'. If you attack first, you will generally get a bounty, which is bad if you steal. The guards will pick you up on a bounty and take stolen goods. As to the cave in Seyda Neen, quick save before you go in, and take em out, it is good exp. and loot. And, because you are low on drakes, gp, septims...whatever, walk through to Pelegaid and to Balmora. But, as I said, it is up to YOU. The world won't crash on you if you never go to Balmora, there is plenty to do anywhere you go. Quest are every where, go find one. I hope this helps, good luck!

yo, that dude fargoth stashes his $$$ in the stump in the swamp (...in the first town go to the traders house. as your walking along the platform to the entrance look down and too the left. theres lake a huge boulder you can step onto and a little swamp with a tree stump in it after that.). Make sure you took the quest and wait till like the middle of the night to go hang out over there. it ttok some time but one night i saw him over there in the swamp. he told me to mind my business and walked away (thought it was funny he was in the swamp) but sure enought there were $300 in the stump

woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just reached lvl 86!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now all my attributes are lvl 100

any1 got better than that?

I killed the lady in the lighthouse. It was an accident (well if you can call hitting her repeatedly with a short sword an accident). Completed the tax collector quest anyway. There's a clue in the tax sheet that the dead dude has.

The killer is the one who owes the most on the tax collector sheet

I'v completed that quest also, and I am wondering, if you may collect those unpaid taxes by yourself?

No you can't but that would have been a nice little feature

Resting (As in sleeping) is illegal in towns, therefore your character simply waits. I would advise taking the Silt Strider, its fast, cheap, and you cant get lost.
I would also avoid killing friendly NPC's, you never know if you might need them for a quest. (Though sometimes you have to kill them for a quest.)
