I spoke to a PC engineer and according to him the problem is not so much peoples machines but more so with the game itself. It is the way the game has been structured that has caused graphical corruption, slow framerates etc. Apparently even the top end card, currently a Radeon 9800 XT, can experience problems. Why has this game been released without the obvious pitfalls sorted?

Ran out of ammo quickly? need medkits......lol thats why you use a melee weapon to conserve ammo and thats why you sneak and attack and use your mods to your advantage.

actaully PC graphics are goodit may have a few glitches... and XBOX graphics are ok, and in relation to the xbox spec i wuldnt be complaining the graphics on XBOX, yes the ammo i tihnk is stupid too... and melee weapons hmm.....only to a certain extent...and even stealth...how far can you go before you HAVE to or WANT to kill.. story seems ok.. although JC merge with helios was not my ending in the first one which i tihnk is a shame in this game..again ammo real piss take

The problem with Deus Ex 2 is that it has so much to live up to. As a stand-alone game it's good, but compared to the original it's found wanting. The skills section has been completely removed and the biomod system reduced in both number of slots and number of upgrades possible. This means the depth of character development is far shallower in Deus Ex 2. But far more crucially, the variation in character development has been lost - biomod canisters are so abundant you'll have probably maxed out all slots by the half way point and have around twelve spare at the end. You don't have to carefully chose which of your abilities to acquire because you can always switch later. There're no consequences, no tactical thinking required.
The aspect of choice has been made a lot of. Which sides to choose, which biomods to choose, etc. Unfortunately, even this is somewhat superficial because there are no real consequences for your choices. Side with the Order, side with the WTO, save Paul, kill Paul... what does it matter when these choices have absolutely no bearing on the game's progression? Ultimately The size of the levels is really disappointing. They're too small and so sparsely populated with enemies (how many are there in the lab that connects you to Antartica? Five? Six?), with perhaps the exception of Liberty Island. The same level is a good example of how small the areas are though - in the DX1, the L. Island map consisted of the entire island, north and south docks, and several floors of the statue. The sequel loses the entire upper statue levels and is split into two parts. There seems to have been a real 'dumbing down' in the sequel - since the game was apparently developed for the Xbox as first priority, perhaps the developers thought console gamers too stupid to grasp the 'complexities' of the original? Sorry for the rant, though Deus Ex 2 isn't a bad game as such. For someone who hasn't played the original it's probably quite refreshing to have a first person shooter take on RPG qualities. It's just that, for those of us who have enjoyed Deus Ex 1, the sequel feels like a huge missed opportunity. -------------------

The idea of a FPS RPG was cool, fast action while doing optional quests..... but they could have put on a much more roingal quests/ side-quests and defently more skills... way more skills. Throughout that game i lived off hacking big robots to do my dirty work, it was pretty obvious which skills you would decide on just reading the descriptions.

What can I say? Many. Ammo as scarce, enemies (and people) were dumb, and when I went into the apostlecorp base in Cairo, I killed everyone, and started throwing the bodies around looking for ammo, and Billie got mad at me for that and attacked me! That's just stupid!

the thing i hate about the game is all the endings are like satyrs, at first u think the order are nice but it turns out they are puppets for capitolists then the wto are nice but are also puppets for capitolists, then the templars they at first seem like they are trying to save everyone but turns out they are like the crusades, the omar: they want EVERYONE to be biomodified and have stupid suits, and Jc he was cool atfirst because he recognized everyones faults and was a good person, but just like in the strategy guide they say, ultimate freedom? or ultimate imprisonment.

Only if you play a game on the hardest diffuculties you can actually appreciate the game. Conserving your ammo make the game more difficult which I like. There is a lot more strategy to the game then you think if you actually bothered to put it on realistic. People always want the easy way out which makes them unappreciative. If you say halo 2 was the easiest game you've ever played, try beating it on legendary. Then you will see the complexity of the game and how good it actualy was.

this game's like an iceberg... a very *tiny* iceberg... if you're just seeing the tip of it..... that's because that's all there is *to* the iceberg...
okay, so i enjoyed the game the first time through, then i went through a few forums like this one, posting some opinions, went through the game again, and i really saw more flaws than just the graphical flaws... the lack of consequence is frustating at times, when you're looking for something new, (and just the opposite can be just as, if not more frustrating, demonstrated by KOTOR 2.) and once you find a good weapon/biomod setup *that works* it's really the only practical one in the entire game, and anything else is really useless... i actually put those extra canisters to use, switching out between a couple of things here and there, especially near the end... i had nothing better to use them for.. ------------------- maybe i'm right, maybe i'm wrong.. but it doesn't change a thing......
