re: Dollhouse

As someone that only watches TV in the form of DVD boxsets it took me this long to get around to this show. I was never a huge fan of Buffy/Angel but liked Firefly so I ran the risk.

Only a few episodes deep but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. At this early stage the plot hasn't really developed into anything beyond tragedy for me yet but I'm sure it the protagonists and antagonists will be clearly labelled to me soon enough.

Good purchase so far.

Lupin3rd, if you're liking the early episodes, then you'll really love the second half of the season, episode 6 is the first really great episode. Definitely make sure to check out the two unaired episodes as well, including the original pilot.

The second season begins Friday, September 25 at 9PM.

Empire also alluded to it turning to gold half way through the first season, gets better and better. I hope it reaches a tight well thought out conclusion when it's all over.

Weedhead Wash still looks like el-p to me.

Is this even worth watching anymore? I watched the season premiere and wasn't too impressed. I taped last week's episode but haven't had the motivation to watch it.

re: Dollhouse

I keep forgetting to check it out, at this point it's probably pointless-the ratings have it begging to be cancelled. Getting to the point where it's lucky to have 2 million total viewers.

I guess I'll change the DVR to record Psych instead of Dollhouse.

re: Dollhouse

Too bad if you gave up on Dollhouse, as last night's episode was fantastic and one of the best of the series. The episode featured a really great twist. Enver Gjokaj (Victor) proves once he's the best actor on the show. It won't be on next week due to baseball, but will be back after that with an episode that looks really awesome from the promo they showed. Summer Glau will also be making her first appearance soon!

The ratings do keep dropping which sucks, but it's in a terrible time slot with even more terrible lead-ins - two bad sitcoms.

The thing with Dollhouse, is when it gives us a fantastic episode, like last night or the second half of the first season, I get excited for where the show can go. But when it hits a snag and gives us a medicore episode, I get worried about how solid the show actually is. It just hasn't hit a consistent stride yet.

re: Dollhouse

I agree with you Echo. Victor's role in Friday's episode was excellent. The scene with him in the club was very entertaining. I also enjoyed having more action scenes with Echo. Every time Eliza Dushku plays a violent role, it reminds me of her days as Faith on BTVS.

It is too bad ratings are dropping, but I can understand why it would since the Season 2 Premiere was not that interesting, and probably thew off some viewers. I was expecting a more heavy-paced premiere considering how well the last season ended. I dislike Paul working for the Dollhouse this season. I can see that it may be necessary to help Echo realize who she is, but I found him more interesting last season.

Apparently the next episode is suppose to shed some light on Ciara's past, but I hope it's more than that because she isn't that interesting of a character.

I hope we get to see more of Topher's storyline. He and Victor have been my favourite.

re: Dollhouse

Wow, last night's episode was fantastic, easily the best episode of the series. Everything in the episode worked perfectly, if only every episode had the caliber of this episode then we'd truly have a superb series.

Sierra is one of my favourite characters on the show, and I loved seeing more background on her character. The episode featured quite a few dark and disturbing moments, including Pyria getting taken and strapped in the chair. Though the struggle/fight between her and Nolan was even more disturbing, similar to the scene from Man on the Street with Mellie. I applauded when she finally stabbed him. Topher was also a huge star of this episode, delivering some fantastic moments. The disturbing moments continued as Boyd comes to the scene with Nolan's bloody dead body, and then explains what they have to do with the body. Truly, dark, disturbing stuff.

Jonathan Frakes did a fantastic job with directing. Just an amazing episode.

Sucks Dollhouse will be pulled during November and won't be back until December 4th for a 2-hour episode, which will feature Summer Glau. And the promo they played look fantastic, I think this show has very well hit its stride with these past episodes. Too bad it's very unlikely we'll get more episodes after this initial 13 episodes.

re: Dollhouse

I gotta echo Echo (haha), that was a great episode. Seeing Topher and Adele interact like that, realising how manipulative Echo is becoming, watching Langton take a dark and cold turn and just the brutal nature of how Sierra got into the dollhouse was fantastic. I hope that they keep it up. I doubt we'll get past a season two but it'd be nice to end it on a string of great episodes.

re: Dollhouse

Man Im quite surprised how good this season is. I thought last season including after ep 6 was so mediocre, I was hoping it got canned instead of Terminator. This season's episode is so much more darker and intriguing. Last year's show always starts with the actives getting prepped for a job and somehow trouble arises. This season so much different. I'm loving it and it couldnt get any better with Summer Glau set to appear soon:)

She would be a good "doll" since she has the empty look in her face

re: Dollhouse

Hate to break it to you all now, but better now than later...it's over. It's getting Das Boot after this season. 13 episodes and that's all. All the episodes will be finished and are scheduled to air as planned with #13 being the series finale.

re: Dollhouse

Hard to say I didn't see it coming. Fox pulling it out of November Sweeps was already a big hint it wouldn't be back. At least Fox gave it a second season, which you really have to be thankful for considering its ratings. I'm not totally heartbroken it's been cancelled, as the show's been somewhat hit-and-miss but I think the show has really gotten great this season and I think the remaining episodes should be great.

I hope Whedon's next project is on a cable network, as it would thrive much better there than on network TV.

I'm a huge fanboy for scifi shows and this show lost my interest. That doesn't happen very easily.
