Haha in the last thread I was actually convinced Jin was dead. Though I later re-evaluated it and thought he'd be alive. But didn't post this.

re: Lost Season 5

A big "*bleep* you" to the bastards who tried shooting me down back in the season 4 thread when I said that Jin would be alive.

And whoever thinks the writers are "making shit up" as they go is pretty *bleep*ing stupid. Kuduros point about deciding what events that people on the island should jump to, yes, they're making that up as they go. But to say the show as a whole - No. There's a reason why they gave themselves an end date. So they could know exactly how many episodes they have left to work with, and then exactly what to do in that time-frame. For them to make things up as they go when they gave themselves an end-date is just suicide for the show.

And right now? The show is an absolute top-form.

I actually believed he could be alive, but I seem to remember Darlton actually saying he died in the S4 commentary.

I guess Locke doesn't find out Jin is still alive, otherwise you figure he would tell Sun and she would want to return.

That's what I thought. So what does that mean? For 3 years Jin won't make any contact with Locke and the gang?

Well, re evaluated it because my main argument was the fact that they didn't dedicate a shot to showing Jin die, which then usually do, but they I considered it may have just been a change in writing and directing. Or they were just not setting anything in stone. But yeah, images like that too I guess. Not your post though.

I wonder what happens if a flash occurs when someones in occupied space, to be honest it should have happened every single time they jumped because of grass and stuff. But I guess not. But if they jump to a time period where there's a structure or even person occupying that space, I wonder if they'll incorporate this in, like a branch or something in a different position and manifests through someones throat, or a toned down puncture of the leg. I was starting to hope this would happen to Miles, but he actually showed a side to him this episode where he wasn't a sarcastic asshole.

Do you think the nose bleed only affects people who don't belong or don't want to belong on the island? The Others and The True Others have never seemed to have suffered, except Juliet, and isn't she still desperate to get off and see her sister? Plus Miles seems to be the son of Dr Halifax, who was doing all sorts of experimental crap. I dunno, I just sort of imagine the Island as a being in it's own right, that's aware/conscious of certain things.

It's just anyone who's jumped. Faraday was one of the last to jump so I assume he's "perfected" it since everyone else jumped and doesn't suffer from the side effects. That's been my understanding anyway.

re: Lost Season 5

It seems that the flashes are occurring when the characters have the chance to change history, or screw with the time line. There was the Richard and Locke moments, the Sawyer and Kate/Claire, the boat paddling and the group shooting at them, and the Faraday and Desmond interactions (just from memory). Could that be what cases the Flashes? If so, then we'll probably have another one since Jin is interacting with Danielle.

This episode airs tonight in the UK so I'm looking forward to seeing Jin again!

As Droid mentioned, if Locke doesn't tell Sun that Jin is still alive (which would immediately make her want to go back to the island) is this because Jin doesn't meet up with Locke and the gang before Locke leaves the island. The island isn't that big. =/

re: Lost Season 5

Hasn't Sun mostly been away from the USA? Maybe Locke doesn't get a chance to tell Sun. I wouldn't be surprised if he told Ben though or if Ben somehow knows himself. So that will get Sun back on the Island. Her whole vengeance is that Jin is dead. Jin's come back for the viewers times nicely with Sun's confrontation moment/scene.

I think if Ben knew Jin was alive he would tell Sun. He's not really evil, he's just had to be deceptive because of the stakes in Seasons 2-4. It's annoying that Kate hasn't grown up and seen this yet too, as with Hurley and Sayid.
