I actually believed he could be alive, but I seem to remember Darlton actually saying he died in the S4 commentary.
I get the feeling they haven't got a clue what's going on either.

I think if Ben knew Jin was alive he would tell Sun. He's not really evil, he's just had to be deceptive because of the stakes in Seasons 2-4. It's annoying that Kate hasn't grown up and seen this yet too, as with Hurley and Sayid.
There was a preview of the next episode and he says to Sun "Sun, Jin is alive and I can prove it".

I still don't like Ben and think there's something up with the guy.

It seems that the flashes are occurring when the characters have the chance to change history, or screw with the time line. There was the Richard and Locke moments, the Sawyer and Kate/Claire, the boat paddling and the group shooting at them, and the Faraday and Desmond interactions (just from memory). Could that be what cases the Flashes? If so, then we'll probably have another one since Jin is interacting with Danielle.
Whilst an interesting idea I think it's far more likely that it's just a plot device used by the writers to piss us off.

Great episode, although throwing past-Danielle into the mix is sure going to delay the progression of the plot at least we now know what Ben is going to use to get Sun to return to the island.

What I'm not quite getting is why Danielle has never revealed that she knows Jin from the past when she meets him as a Flight 815 survivor. Clearly something must happen/be said in the next episode to stop her from doing so.

Also Daniel's explanation about who is suffering from the nosebleeds has me thinking. Miles is quite clearly the baby shown at the very start of the first episode but either Charlotte had already been born/taken to the island OR stayed longer than Miles. The only reason I can tell for a child to be on the island is because of their parent(s), so this begs the question who is Charlotte's parent(s)?

Couldn't Charlotte be the little girl that Ben knew when he was child on the island, or is he too old?

What? When did they meet in the past? Or are you talking about the latest encounter, because it will likely affect nothing seeing as it will probably flash 2 or 3 more times next episode.

Lol, I also love how every time it flashes it has to flash to some sort of time-landmark. You'd expect it to flash to times where pretty much nothing happens 99% of the time.

She's dead like all of the other Dharma people.

re: Lost Season 5

I'm talking about Seasons 1-4 when Danielle has teamed up with the Flight 815 survivors (including Jin) but during that time made no mention of the fact that Jin 'appeared' on the island at the exact some time she first arrived. I'm 99% sure they met in 'Danielle's future'. I'm not meaning to kick off the whole 'did they plan the time-travelling island in advance or not', that's irrelevant. I'd just like to see how the writers are going to explain the fact that the Danielle we knew from Seasons 1-4 never mentions saving Jin's life.

Because once the island jumps again, I guess if not enough of a difference is made, nothing happens. This is an exception for the Dan/Desmond conversation, but the rules don't apply to him. Lol.

What? Ben was the one constantly warning the 815 survivors not to call the people on the freighter.

Meh. Sun doesn't matter to me anyway. I've never liked her and with her whole "out for vengeance" thing I just dislike her even more.

Could it be that it was different for Daniel and Desmon due to them being each others constant?
