Here are some easy defence tips 4 begginers:
-press L to do a reverse before they nail you with a throw.
-press up up or down down to preform a sidestep.
-press away to block.
-press away away to retreat
-press down to crouch (dodge) an upper attack by an opponet.
-press up to jump (dodge) an upper attack by an opponet.

Note: All this can be seen at the 'pause screen' in 'show moves.'

is there any way to break out of the enemy's combos? they are just killing me

look 4 slow points on combos then attack.
it will only work if u block the first part of it!
