my dads an arse an aint got a credit card so i cant get FF XI i am hoping so hard that it will allow me to pay through SPLASH PLASTIC if not though i will av to get sumat u can use SP through like DAoC or EO

Wow, some of you have some really odd job combos you want to be. Now what job combo you want to be is up to you, but i guarantee more than half of you will change your mind once you get a little bit into the game.

Not only will you change your main job, even if you stick to your main job, there is a good chance you will be using different sub jobs at different times. For example, if you are really into becoming a truely effective dark knight, you would use war sub from 1-30, then war or thf sub (depending on party) from 30-50 and then most likely war sub until 60, then thf sub until 75 (unless there is a thf in party, then of course war sub).

Another example is rdm, if you are level 64 and happen to know there is either A) No whm in the party or B) the whm does not (for some reason and this does happen) have erase, you will probably sub whm for this party but you normally will sub blm because shocks makes your buffing life a lot easier.

A 3rd example for whm, after 58, you generally will sub smn for the extra mp but you would be much better off with blm if there isnt a blm in your party and you need to escape due to a link and such. Of course you could use your teleport spells but that'll mean wasting a good 10-15 minutes to get back to your leveling location (this will not hold true if your party is leveling in a field).
