Vista compatible router

Can anyone recommend a good (possibly cheap) Vista compatible router?

I'm just looking for it to work with my computer and 360.

Wireless or Wired Router? In any case I'm a fan of linksys so I would recommend one of their routers. The fact that you have Vista shouldn't matter for a router.

Yeah, the whole 'compatible with vista' thing is mostly a marketing thing. The only thing you need to look for vista compatibility with is software, but anything made for xp usually works fine on vista.

As far as routers, like VG, I'm a fan of Linksys. They have some good wired and wireless routers. I saw a good wireless router for $50 at best buy today.

re: Vista compatible router

I have run into problems using the Storage Link option on the Linksys WRT350N with WinV. I am trying a beta firmware that is supposed to fix it, and that improves it but does not fix everything.

If you are running MSIE, MS has a testing tool and compatibility list.

Looking at the MS testing tool, general internet browsing will be unaffected if the router is not 100% compatible.

re: Vista compatible router

Check with your router manufacturer. Somer routers are not compatible.

Usually, hardware is not the source of compatability problems. But many routers will not work with Vista. They often say so on the box. (If they say the work with Mac and Windows 98, ME, XP, etc. you should probably assume they don't work with Vista. That's why it was ommitted.)
