Blocking a website?

Alright I want to know if I can block a website from appearing and pissing me off! It's called onestepsearch and it is giving me hell. I don't click on any links or even type the name in for it, it just hijacks whatever web-page I'm currently on and gives me a list of links. I never signed up for the stupid thing, I don't want it and when it interrupts my download with 10minutes to go that has already taken 2hrs I get freaking pissed-off with it! I have to restart the entire download again! That's another 2hrs!

So yeah how do I stop this piece of shit appearing and ruining what it is I'm doing? I've had enough of it!

Anyway I apologise for my anger but I'm pissed-off like all hell!

Thanks in advance to anybody who can help me out and sorry if this is the wrong forum!

re: Blocking a website?

Hi,

You may have already done this but I would advise you to scan your system for spyware/viruses.

I would recommend using AVG and Spybot as most people do here.

Cheers

re: Blocking a website?

That sounds like you have some spyware of a virus on your computer. Like the previous poster said, download spybot and AVG (if you dont already have an anti-virus), and scan your system a few times and remove the problems.

re: Blocking a website?

I got an anti-virus but I know nothing about spy-ware! I always thought it was something that could borrow info from your PC. I didn't think it could invade my Internet!

I will look up Spybot then!

Thanks very much! I highly appreciate it, now I should be able to download in peace!
