Internet's being wierd |
|
I've got Comcast High Speed, connected to a Netgear WNR3500 router. My computer is a story down, with the signal going through a stone wall, with a Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter plugged into it.
I used to have a Linksys router, I forget the name, with a 54 MBPS Wireless USB Adapter in my computer. It was a tad slow, but it did its job fine. Now, with the current setup, I can get 2MBPS download speeds, the transfer rate between the adapter and router is 130 MBPS constant, but my internet lags while playing games, it didn't do it before, though, with the slower set up. It's the same with my Xbox LIVE, which is using a Pelican Wireless Gaming Adapter. What gives? It's not the internet itself that's lagging, I don't think, becasue during the downloads, it's fine, and before the system was all switched over, it wasn't having any lag problems. So does anyone have any ideas? ~Thanks ------------------- ![]() | |

It sounds like the LInksys router gives out better frequency than the netgear. You might want to switch back to a Linksys router, if it's still possible. I've heard mixed reviews about the N router. Supposedly the signal is stronger than the G bandwitdh, but the signal is weaker going through walls and such. I don't think there's a fix here except to switch back to the G router and adapter.
