Best wireless USB network adapter? |
|
I currently have the netgear W111T 54MBPS wireless G adapter and for the last 2 months it has been overheating and pretty much dying on me to the point that in order to get a connection I have to either move it around the room or use my heater (has air conditioning function) to cool the damn thing down.
Considering my wired connection downstairs is fine, when this cracks off, I can certainly say it is not my Internet Provider or the router used (downstairs PC goes through router then router to phoneline) So now I am looking to grab a decent adapter, unfortunately I do not keep up with my network company news and so I have lost track of who is in the running for best adapters as a few years ago it was Belkin, then Netgear (hence why I have netgear) If there is a specific adapter you recommend then shout it out, otherwise I am happy just to hear the brand recommendations ------------------- ![]() ![]() | |

I've had success with Netgear as a brand, so you might want to give them a shot. As for your wireless USB, it sounds like it might just be a problem with that device. Maybe try updating drivrs or a different USB slot? Seems like it ight be getting too much power causing it to heat up quickly.
