story
two amazing planets known as Light Land and Dark Domain have been attacked by Cortex and his minions. crash grabs his Wumpa Bazooka and starts shooting. get seven gems in the light world and get seven crystals in the dark world and you'll fight Cortex. In the dark realm is all Cortex.

This probably came from a mix of Zelda and... something else. Like metroid.

Stages

N. Sanity Island
Shoot many enemies while getting items and after at least two minutes you'll face Tiny.

Tiny: He's in a giant armored turtle. The turtle hops and shoots laser blasts from the shell. Destroy the shell and Tiny will be seen. He'll throw a lot of bombs. Shoot Tiny at least for 15 seconds and then Tiny will explode. You got the red gem.

Not exactly sure where THIS came from...

Crazy Creek
Shoot a lot of water enemies like piranhas and sea monkies. Getting a lot of items and avoiding water pits and dodging waves. After three minutes it's time to face Ripper Roo.

Ripper Roo: He'll be in a giant piranha with a catapult that launches TNT's and Nitro's. You're plan is to shoot the nitro boxes before they come to you and dodge the TNT's and shoot his mouth. Several times will destroy it and he'll come out. He'll throw a nitro box now and then and hide. Shoot him when he comes out and soon he'll be destroyed. You've got the dark blue gem.

Another unsure...

Sunset Vista
A lot of fire and there's a lot of enemies! Shoot them all and after five minutes you'll get at the end and face the menacing Dingodile.

Dingodile: He'll be in a scorpion. The tail launches fireballs and the claws will try paralyzing you. Shoot his two claws and then his fire tail and one cannon comes out and shoots a fire beam. Destroy it and Dingodile comes out. Avoid fireballs from his flamethrower and shoot him. Once he's defeated you'll have the gold gem.

OK, most of us know at least the title is a level from Crash 1. I don't know how fire has anything to do with it...

Road To Nowhere
This place is very tough to get passed without practice. Jump a lot to correct plank to correct plank shooting enemies and getting items. Soon you'll face Oxide.

Nitrus Oxide: Avoid his explosives and his fireballs. He has a robot of himself. The idea is to shoot the engine of his giant Oxide looking robot without recieving too much damage. Shoot his engine twenty times and Oxide comes out sending giant Nitro boxes. Shoot his head thirty times to win. You have the light blue gem.

Another Crash 1 level... sounds like a lot of hits with a bazooka... this game sounds monotonous

Toxic Waste: A hard level at first. Lots of rats and barrels and you have to kill em all and get many items. At least four lives appear here. Once you pass the level thankfully you'll fight Pinstripe.

Pinstripe: Pinstripe is in a giant barrel with two gun arms. The arms will shoot a lot of bullets. See the caution sign? Shoot that as it powers up the barrel. The barrel may tip and make a whole lotta acid go to the ground. Shoot the caution sign at least 30 times and Pinstripe comes out. Avoid his gunshots and his acid tip over. Twenty shots will defeat Pinstripe. You have the green gem.

OK, this is EXACTLY from Crash 1! Pathetic! All but the barrel robot, anyway.

Klockwork Kingdom
A lot of war enemies, prehistoric enemies, future robots and more. Once you beat the level, which may be hard you'll face N. Tropy.

N. Tropy: He has no robot. Avoid waves and fireballs. But when his force field goes down shoot him. Ten shots and his patterns go much faster. Ten more and he goes insane and adds green fireballs and red waves. Red waves are slow and green fireballs are very fast. Five more shots and you'll win. You have the clear gem.

Hm... this one's original, to say the least... it's not very unique, mind you, but at least original...

N. Gin Lab
Play through a laboratory that looks like a factory and avoid several hazards. After three minutes it's time to fight N. Gin in a tough robot.

N. Gin: He seems to be inside a robot with weird looking arms with bubble shaped segments. Avoid missiles from the four cannons and a laser beam from the middle. Shoot the middle and the arms and N. Gin comes out shooting orbs from his laser. Shoot him fifty times to win. You won the purple gem.

OH COME ON!! THE WORST YET! The level is EXACTLY what is in Twinsanity! Also, the boss is basically EXACTLY the same as N. Gin from Crash 2!!

Castle Machinery
Now this place is long! Avoid several bombs and red hot pipes and pits and soon you'll end up in a dark castle room and you'll fight N. Brio.

N. Brio: He is in a walker machine with his head. Shoot the top of the head and avoid his shots from the mouth. After many shots at the head N. Brio will be in a hovercraft with two huge hands. Shoot his hands thirty times each and then shoot N. Brio sixty times to win. Avoid his laser blasts too.

Still yet another level from Crash 1 with another same boss, place, and order... *yawn*

Dark World

Cortex Castle
Destroy all enemies and go up to the top of the castle to fight Cortex.

Cortex: He'll shoot many blasts while throwing bombs. Shoot his N thirty times to win.

Yup, same level from CTR...

Cortex Sanctuary
Destroy all his fancy enemies and get items and you'll go to an assembly line and face Cortex again.

Cortex: He's in a chair and it launches fireballs, whips and makes laser beams. Destroy his four legs. Thirty shots each and soon you'll see Cortex falls down. Avoid his red blasts and shoot him twenty times to win.

An assembly line in a sanctuary??

Cortex Laboratory
Destroy every single lab assistant and robo spike turtles and soon you'll fight Cortex AGAIN!

Cortex: This time he'll be in a machine with a claw. He'll pick up strong exploding mines and throw it at you and launch at you. Make it launch at an electrical supply and soon the electric will hit Cortex. Then shoot him. Forty times beats him.

Both enemies from previous Crash games... boss somewhat similar to final boss in TWOC...

Cortex Submarine
Destroy lab assistants and piranhas and once you get to the control room you fight Cortex and he's in a underwater submarine.

Cortex: Avoid torpedoes and sonic blasters. Destroy all his cannons and shoot Cortex fifty times to win.

Same as in TWOC... again...

Cortex Airplane
Destroy lab assistants and flight enemies and some other spiky enemies and soon you'll reach the engine and fight Cortex.

Cortex: He's on a high pedestal and shoots lots of blasts. Shoot the rope thirty times and make an anvil fall on him. After three anvils he'll be defeated.

OK, an AIRPLANE? And ANVILS? Come on, don't you think that's a bit cartoony for the rest of the game? Sounds kinda boring with the whole game being just the Wumpa Bazooka, too...

Cortex Vortex
Jump on the asteroids and shoot spaceships only and you'll fight Cortex in ten seconds inside a giant wrecking ball.

Cortex: Avoid the wrecking ball and go to asteroids before he destroys them. Shoot him thirty times FAST to win.

Uh... I have NO idea where the wrecking ball came from, but that is the same final battle as in Crash 2.

Cortex Throne Room
You fight Cortex immediately. Luckily the final time you deal with him.

Cortex: Now he's in a giant sphinx! Shoot his face and avoid laser blasts, fireballs, machinegun bullets and laser beams. Destroy the eyes, face, nose and N and soon the sphinx will go bye bye. Now Cortex will be alone. He'll be out of ammo from all those fights and fly away. Shoot his head one hundred times to win!

Um.. a sphinx???

Ending: Cortex will explode and he'll fall into a lava pit and die. A blackhole sucks up his castle and all of his places and so does his henchmen. You see Crash sleeping and Coco nodding. Crunch steals Crash's drumstick and he gets mad and accidentally shoots him. THE END!

I have a feeling that that last part was a joke, but I KNOW you got that "explode into lavapit" ending from Spyro 2: Rypto's Rage. Black hole, not sure of, but sounds like a weird copycat of a game. >_>
