I had thought about that. The only problem is that lvls can be earned by simply playing a lot and just getting lucky a few times or having awesomely good teammates. The problem with basing it on win percentage is that someone can start a new account and have a better percentage then someone who has the same account the whole time, yet the person with the new account could be a worse player than the person with the old account. There are also other reasons a person may not have a good account but still be a good player, disconnecting, bad teammates, etc.

Well while i don't have a lvl requirement I do end up recruiting people who are lvl 7-9. Actually i've seen some of the new players, lvl 0, go to lvl 8 in a few weeks after joining the clan. So not all lvl 0's are bad. On the other hand the new players tend to be inactive so they end up getting booted anyways.

hmmmm lol know what suprised me how from reading ur post how u got some GREAT info on startagy and stuff but have a hard time putting it into action ill use you trifal as a example srry 11.4 win percent? but in here u problly gave people some tips that may of got them their icon and sutff. i can say kanvu or w/e helped me get mine

I get disced a lot. I also generally don't play a lot of games. I'm somewhat tired of people insulting me because i have a 56k. Though my lack of playing does allow me to manage the clan better.

I mean that i have more to time to organize things, i.e. make sure everybody's active, plan tournaments, address individual problems with members of the clan, recruit new people... And that doesn't mean i don't play. I just don't play as much as I could.

And while that philosphy works in most situations, Blue, I am choosing to play on B.net, it is a situation i can avoid if I want to, which means that I really don't need people insulting me. Especially when I'm on to do something fun.

i hate to bring Starcraft up again since this is a WC III board but this is the general discussion thread and this is related.

win records are really just for show.

you can have 5000-0-0 record but if all ur fighting are newbies, all i can say really is "so what?". it isnt as great as having record of like 1-0-0 versus an elite WC III player.

other folks look at ur record to judge ur skills, its true. but records can give a false impression.

in starcraft, i have a friend who calmly joins a game, says "hi", and remains quiet. usually other folks make fun of his 50-200-500-ish record. he'll just take the insults and stay quiet. won't even respond other than an occasional "hi" or "ok". he uses this to his advantage. the other players underestimate him due to his record and he builds up. then he goes on an all out blitzkrieg of doom. he come and obliterates every player to the brink of extinction. just when he is about to achieve victory, he'll suddenly quit (set everyone as allies) or disconnect.

point im sayin is, records doesnt necessarily show your skill so dont b bummed about it and go war.

and oh, i'm not afraid to brag but i rule in SC. i'll take on any of you (up to 5-6 at once) and win. >=)

I understand what you're saying. I usually don't respond to anything people say either. The difference is, is that I suck and really can't get people to underestimate. The other problem is is that the lagging annoys me as much as my opponent so i usually end up getting a massive headache after one game. Not exactly my idea of fun.
