Hahaha, The Island tanked. GOOD! A film that cost $120 Million to make only pulls in $12M is considered a HUGE *bleep*ING BOMB! I highly doubt the film will see any increase over the next several weeks so it's safe to claim that. Not that the film isn't good, but Michael Bay, you *bleep*ing hack ... maybe next time Scarlett Johanson appears in one of your typical summer (sometimes shit infested) blockbusters, DO NOT TALK HER INTO KEEPING HER CLOTHES ON WHEN SHE SO WILLINGLY WANTS TO TAKE THEM OFF JUST TO KEEP YOUR PG-13 RATING! (sadly, 'tis a true story.)

Both, Hustle & Flow and The Devil's Rejects did good. TDR's I'm surprised even made it past $5M considering it was only playing in 1757 theaters (HALF of what The Island was in) and H&F only had showings in 1013 theaters.

And is anyone surprised with Bad News Bears opening weekend earnings? Did somebody let one rip? I claim that one when I created it's film thread. Whoo! ... What a stinker.

I think there is one just that the index doesn't have it in there yet...

And I think it sucks that The Island tanked so badly... I thought that film was amazing...

And back up for a second... Scarlet Johansson WANTS to take her clothes off? WTF is all this clothes-on bullcrap then? I'll write a script and call her myself if I have to!

I really want to see this "March of the PEnguins" movie too.

"Wedding Crashers" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" are tearing up the charts. Those film's aren't budging an inch on the Top 10 list. Though, not much can be said for what's been released the last several weeks.

Damn The Island got punk*d bad. It doesn't look like it's going to make the $50mil mark. Better hope it does well overseas. On the plus side though, I can expect a kickass DVD package to come out in the next few months.

March Of The Penguins is doing damn well. It's outdoing Stealth, and it's catching up to The Island too... two films that received A LOT more publicity than a movie about penguins migrating...

So Virgin beat out Red Eye, meh. Nothing for the past month has even been remotely interesting to see at the theater. Besides The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Transporter 2, basically everything that's been coming out just appears boring, or nothing worth going to the movies to see anyways.

One thing that's funny is Valiant bombed... where's Pixar when you need them?

Oh and Cleric, read my views on why The Island tanked in the very top post of this page.

The Transporter 2 broke box office records having the highest grossing film for Labor Day weekend. The Labor Day opening record was previously held by another sequel, Jeepers Creepers 2, which debuted with $18.3 million in 2003. The Constant Gardener did surprisingly well. Not surprising is the fact Nick Cannon's "Underclassmen" bombed at #11; any dipshit could have predicted that.
