There was also the fact that the first bit of Part 2 (where I stopped) switched your party around constantly. You had no "party." You were in no particular place, with no concerted objective. It just bothered me.

To make matters worse, by endgame you were able to use all the Laguz Nobles & other godly units that easily outclass most of your hard-worked party. There were way too many characters in FE10, & promotion was a joke. Everyone was a prepromote basically. If you weren't you'd have trouble getting higher up.
Part 2 is also probably the worst part, I'd say, since it includes primarily the more lackluster characters of 9. Part 3 brings in Ike & his team, & the chapters begin to get more cohesive. Overall, FE10 was an interesting experiment, but they should stick by more traditional story arcs. ------------------- ![]()

I liked the game, not the amount of prepremotes.

I'm still one of those people who wants another Elibe game, if they are going to expand on any more continents. Elbert's so underdeveloped --- His own game would be cool, with young Marcus, maybe even a younger Athos & Nergal, who knows? I would buy it though.
If not, a new continent with an entirely new storyline would be good. Especially if they go back to FE7/FE8 style of play, with none of that class swap crap & 3rd tier crap. The game I was writing a script for would've played like that. I don't really know how to go about doing the story. Unless I come up with something really clever, it'll be very generic or a rip-off of others. =/ ------------------- ![]()

I completely agree, Tomato, FE7 & FE6 are still my favorite FE games, and I really wish Elibe would become even more developed.

I would like FE9 to be expanded. We get the twins back on the throne and then what?
I like third tier simply because you can make some amazingly powerful units that way. ------------------- "Are you...comparing me to God? I'm flattered, but just so you know, I've never made a tree." ~House

It's still the same. They added another tier, they did the same thing in fe9 with ewan, ross, and amelia. It's really nothing new.

quote Teufel HundenThat was a bit different considering they were LESSER than the other units, plus they had the whole promotion tree thing that made it much more fun. Part of the reason I love Fire Emblem is the replay value, FE10 has virtually none. 5000th post. Yay. ------------------- ![]()

It's still 3 tiers. Even though fe10 had pre premotes, you still basically had one promotion since they where already 2nd tier. Although they are prepromotes, they are just as easily killed, they are still on the same level as the enemy units, it's really not.that.different.

re: Looking Back: Who Remembers...? |

Even so, no one was really thrilled with 3 tiers in FE8, I mean, how many people enjoy it as much as 7 & 9? Very few, if any. An extra tier just makes Fire Emblem less like itself. I think it's fair to say that a lot of Emblem fans would rather the gameplay & system be nearly identical if not exact to its counterparts, with just different characters & storyline. None of this 3rd Tier or Trainee Tier. It's all going to end up the same anyway:
A guy with 20 attack attacking someone with 10 defense will have the same result as a 40 attack with 30 Defense. Why make the numbers larger? It really serves no point & just makes FE less visually pleasing. Low Numbers make for easier comprehension of the game, & makes for less disparity between units. Like in FE10, other than Micaiah, who you're forced to use & appears in the most chapters, which of the unpromoted Dawn Brigade & Part 1 characters will get to 20/20/20? Few to None. All characters in FE9 can get to 20/20 without much trouble, unless of course they suck, or can't do as such. I'm just ranting because I'm a reactionary who wants everything to be FE7. It had just the right amount of stuff. ------------------- ![]()

I liked the 3 tiers. It doesn't bother me that much, i've gotten all of the dawn brigade to 20/20/20 so it's not that hard to do.
I would like to see the trainee's return, or make the third tier two choices like in fe8 ------------------- "Are you...comparing me to God? I'm flattered, but just so you know, I've never made a tree." ~House

I'm indifferent to number of tiers. I just felt that each FE8 storyline was too short and would've been better if it were longer.

I actually enjoyed FE 8 more than FE 9, but I suppose that's partly because I could take it with me places. I just don't have the patience to sit down and play a Fire Emblem game, where I tend to have to reset relatively often, on a console.
