Tomato's FEBW Tournament I [Started - Matches posted]

In case the username didn't give it away, I'm Tomato (Or Dan, whichever you prefer), & this thread is one pertaining to my very first FEBW tournament. Often considered broken & terrible, FEBW has potential to be fun if you put the right limits on it.

How The Games Will Work

As of now, I plan on having eight contestants split into two groups of four, which will have round robins amongst their own groups, three games, & those games will decide the seeding for the next part - Dun dun dun - Single Elimination Brackets.

So based on wins & losses, (& if there are ties, based on how many units you had survive at the end of your wins, & if not that, then it's just a coin flip for seeding) the brackets will be made. #1 vs. #8 & so forth.

By the end, we will have a winner, whose grand award is a sense of accomplishment, knowing the bested people at a game that we've all been on Neoseeker for for a good number of years.

Rules

This pretty much pertains to the set-up of everything.

1) Make a new FEBW account - It's simple. Something similar to your username here would be preferable, but whatever tickles your fancy is fine.

2) Create 8 units that you will use in your games. You can only have ONE unit of each class, & may not make any character's stats higher than ten (10) (Other than HP, of course). Also, in lieu of that, you may not put more than five points into any stat. You only get ten anyway. Also, I'll allow thieves, but you can't go around stealing vulneraries - That's just not cool.

3) After you do that, go to your public profile page & post the link here in your sign-up so it's easy for whoever you may be playing to scout your team out & vice-versa.

4) Once sign-ups are complete, battles will begin. The number of round robin games is still up in the air as I type this, but I'm going to say that three (All the other players in your random group) should be sufficient. Also, for fairness, you cannot use these units for any other purposes other than the tournament & round robin, so it keeps everyone on an even playing field.

5) Round Robin battles will take place on 'Beyond The Borders' The two players can start from whichever points they like. The seeded tournament games will be on 'Kinship's Bond', & again players can start from wherever they like. When it comes to characters, you are permitted to use 6 of your 8 characters per battle, & may switch between the fielded & benched characters for whichever battles you like. As far as settings are concerned, I suggest you make the games private & send the name of the game & the password to your opponent via Neoseeker PM so you two can start the battle. Whoever wants to create the battle can do as they like, just make sure all the settings will encompass everyone. You know - Min & Max level, min/max level average, Boot Interval, etc.

6) There you have it. It should be good, I hope. Being how FEBW can be slow, & I don't expect you guys to delineate some time to do a battle all at once (Of course if you want to, that'd be pretty nice) but just play when you get the chance. Sending a PM here telling your opponent it's his turn would be a nice gesture to help keep things moving along. The round robins will start once everyone signs up & is cleared to go. Sign-ups should look like this:

Username: thebrontosaurus
Team: The Franzerks

(Yeah, you can totally give your team a corny name if you want)

DeathXWind

Get the theme I'm rolling with, and I love you forever.

EDIT: Unless you're DrunkenSniper, because he knows exactly what I'm doing.

uhh...It's better if you use FETO. It's more stable, has promotions, and tons of items.

The original site did, the guy who made it put it on the same website as awbw, since FEBW is such a small part of it anyway. But no, it still works I believe.

Some other time maybe. I don't think it'd be the brightest idea for the person whose running the tournament to have never played FETO either, & considering I wrote everything up for FEBW, it'll be FEBW - At least for this tournament. I'll investigate FETO though, I have an account - Seems a tad confusing though, almost too much.

Deathwind & DrunkenSniper are in. Woo.

Just message this name on FETO and I'll teach you whatever you need to know. Of course, MSN would help that along.

Scarecrow is in. I'm liking Dan the bard the most, I wonder why.

I started playing it, Tom, but for the purposes of this tournament (Just something small & simple), FEBW works fine. I know just about all the quirks of the system too which means if there are any problems I could likely solve them. & thank you, I'll definitely play sometime.

Alright, so over a week with no new sign-ups.

I'll give it another week to fill up, otherwise we'll just have to play with us five.
