"Screw the Rules, I Have Funds!"

I can never get ***** in funds, it seems. The question: Whet is this based on, funds spent, or funds earned? Topic for discussion: Could you go through the game never selling anything? Would you have enough money for weapons? Does it even matter?

Personally, I like to sell everything and stockpile cash until chapter 29x, when I spend it all like a lunatic. (Yet I still can't get ***** in funds?)

[yes, I did think of this while watching Yu-Gi-Oh, The Abridged Series]

Yeah, that was funny how the multi-millionaires are immune to the law.

Anyway, it's based on total funds at the end of the game, including funds worth of assets. So yeah, funds ranking wise, it's better to hold on to gems than sell them, not use Farina, don't promote Dart/Theives, etc.

re: "Screw the Rules, I Have Funds!"

Selling stuff HURTS Funds. The worst things to sell are White Gems, Fell Contract(s), and Ocean Seal(s).

If you're playing Hard Mode and swiped the Silver Card from Aion, you can save your Funds by buying a spare Fell Contract or Ocean Seal.

Basically, if you want to play ranked, don't promote Dart or a Thief, don't sell any Gems, get EVERY village, don't recruit Farina, etc.

what about the Ocean Seal and Fell Contract you find? It can't possibly hurt your funds to use them seeing as you get them for free, can it?

They still go to your Funds; the second it's in your possession, the second it counts to Funds, regardless of whether you bought it or not.

I didn't know possessions couted as funds...

but that leads me to a question, is it selling things that hurts your funds or spending money from what was originally sold?

I think both will. Since you're selling things at half value, you're losing funds.

re: "Screw the Rules, I Have Funds!"

well, logically, only one will affect ranking

if your funds count the full price of an Item you own, then only selling it would hurt you while spending money wouldn't do much for your ranking, good or bad

but if it counts your items at half value, it would be selling that doesn't do much for you, good or bad and buying that hurts you

Why wouldn't you be able to sell gems? They have no buy value, so i don't think it hurts your funds...

re: "Screw the Rules, I Have Funds!"

It counts items at full value (so buy a silver sword and it won't affect your funds ranking). However, every time you use a weapon and its dur drops, so does its value.

Likewise when you use something like a torch or an elixer.

Buying stuff doesn't affect it. Using it does.

re: "Screw the Rules, I Have Funds!"

Buying stuff will affect your funds because Funds is assets + gold. So your stuff in gold + your gold that you spend.

And if you can sell a gem for 10,000, that means you lose 10,000 gold because the gem is worth 20,000.

now what would happen if you bought that 20,000 gem back? how would it affect your funds? it wouldn't, because you have the gem you bought for 20,000 in your possession

No, you'd sell it for 10k and buy it back for 20k assuming you can buy it back at all. So you're losing 10k.

Sorry, my bad, you're right, buying stuff doesn't affect your funds. My bad.

You're still losing 10kG overall.

Originally Had: Item (20kG)
Sold Item; Result: 10kG, No Item (+10kG, -20kG; net: -10kG)
Bought Item; Result: Item (+20kG, -20kG; net: +0kG; overall: -10kG)
