This is something that's been bugging me recently. I was playing through the game again, and I got to Whereabouts Unknown. I noticed that Raven's bases were the sort of thing a Myrm would have.

Averages:

HP: 58 Def: 16
Str: 25 MDf: 7
Skl: 27 Luc: 14
Spd: 26

Low Def and Res, fairly high Str, Skl and Spd. Kinda makes you wonder if Raven should be a Merc or a Myrm.

Well... generally Swordmasters don't get that sort of hp...

Respectfully, Heroes should be a decent paladin/ swordmaster cross with a lack of speed, with luck being a trivial matter that differs from character to character:

Has anyne noticed that, as far as FE7 and FE8 go, Heroes are only fast because of their insane Speed base? Heck, Gerik's Sped growth is lower than Dozla's.

I agree, note that what I said above is what I believe to be the perfect build for a hero based on their caps

I'd bump Spd and Str up by 1 each. I think they were meant to be tankier Swordmasters, which is exactly what they accomplish with lower Spd and Skl but higher Str and Def since their Spd is still relatively strong, their Skl pwns (actually, I'd nuke it a bit, since 30 Skl is extremely pointless), and their Str is usable.

Of course, the Pally-SM mix you have is adequately reflected in the aforementioned caps.

Raven is basically a SM with lower speed and skill as a trade off for higher strength and HP. Def/Res are both fairly low. Basically, a Swordsmaster that needs more healing because he can't dodge as much

Gerik is one of the best units in FE8 if trained properly and if you ignore his late comings. He has high in basically everything, and is nearly as useful and powerful as Ephraim *dodges chair*

Look at post context plz. I was referring to HP.

SMs don't have Hp or Str like that. Raven's Con is better than most, as well.
