I haven't bought this game yet and I want to know a couple of things about it... 1) What are the battles like? Do you go into a Battle Scene like all the other Final Fantasy game? Not really. The battles are different from other FF games but not by too much. The melee parts are fought automatically with you deciding when to cast spells or use special abilities.2) Can you have tema battles and how many can be in a team? I assume you meant TEAM but typed too fast. Yes, you can form parties to fight monsters, in fact, it's pretty much a necessity after level 11 if you want to accrue decent XP to level at a reasonable rate.3)Is it easy to get a Chocobo and can only certain classes get it because I can't imagine one of those Mage guys riding one... Although I haven't done it yet (I plan to this weekend) I do understand it's time consuming and you have to be level 20 to do it. Anyone who has completed the quest can ride a Chocobo. And believe me, by level 20 riding a Chocobo is almost a must. I spend so much earth time walking from place to place it's amazing.4) What's the most fun thing to do in it? This depends on what you like to do really because there is so much you CAN do. Make money, fight monsters, chat with your Linkshell, Craft, work on quests or missions. Basically there's so much it depends on what you're feeling like what you want to do when you log on.5) Is the world big? I find it to be HUGE but some people say it's too small. I've been playing for 2 months and still haven't been everywhere. Of course I don't play as much as some people do...6) Is the music good? Eh, I guess so. It's basic Final Fantasy music. It gets repetitive after a while like most games.7) Would there be alot of lag for someone with great broadband connection and a good computer? I use DSL and have very little lag, but someone said in one of these forums that no matter what speed you have the game will always play at 56K. I have noticed some but not enough to bother me. You'll want that high speed connection though for updates because it'll be a million times faster to download because download speeds aren't restricted. Trust me, after you first set it up and download the updated files, you'll want to marry that broadband connection8) Does it take time to get used to? This is my first MMORPG and it took a little time to get used to. I think the instruction manual is incredibly vaugue, but it appears you've found Neoseeker and that's all you need to know. If you've got a question ask around the game or just post it here That's all...

I guess I can further explain things, since I've been playing for about 6 months now.quote Cho Meka
I haven't bought this game yet and I want to know a couple of things about it...
1) What are the battles like? Do you go into a Battle Scene like all the other Final Fantasy game? If you would have to find a game that has a battle scene most similair to this, it would be Kingdom Hearts. There are a few differences, like you auto-attack insted of constanly hitting the X button. 2) Can you have tema battles and how many can be in a team? Team battling is a must after 11, you would go to the valkrum dunes and lvl there. The max number of members you cna have is 18, but for my exp parties, they stick to 6 members. The more members, the more exp has to be spreaded around. 3)Is it easy to get a Chocobo and can only certain classes get it because I can't imagine one of those Mage guys riding one... You would have to be lvl 20, go to Jeuno(Jeuno is like the crossroad between the 3 nations), talk to the NPC that assigns the quest. The quest is quite simple but time consuming, the minimun amount of time that you can finish it is 6 ffxi days. Each day requires you to feed the chocobo some kind of veggie, it won't take after the first 2 days. It will only eat it the last 4 days.4) What's the most fun thing to do in it? There are quests you can complete for gil, fame or items. Mission are like quests, but can only be done for your nation. You can talk in a linkshell, its like a chatroom that you have with those who are in the same linkshell. You can also craft, fishing, blacksmithing, goldsmithing, bone working, weaving, tanning, and cooking.
5) Is the world big? Its quite big when you first start out, but as you gain more ways or transportation, chocobo, airships, ferries, it seems a bit smaller. 6) Is the music good? The music changes as you go to different places. It also adds to the mood, there is a place with no music, it sounds peaceful yet creepy when you first get there. 7) Would there be alot of lag for someone with great broadband connection and a good computer? I wouldn't know, I have 56k and have some lag but not enough for me to switch, due to AOL. 8) Does it take time to get used to? It might take a quite a while for those who don't know about it before they actaully play, I've spent about 2 months posting in the PS2 ffxi forum and learn alot. So when I actually started, I was quite comfortable in a few minutes. That's all...

1) What are the battles like? Do you go into a Battle Scene like all the other Final Fantasy game?
They've explained it enough.
2) Can you have tema battles and how many can be in a team?
'Nough said.
3)Is it easy to get a Chocobo and can only certain classes get it because I can't imagine one of those Mage guys riding one...
Ooh, Chocobos, they're very easy to get, I played for 6 hours straight which is 6 ffxi days to get it, very boring.
4) What's the most fun thing to do in it?
I don't know, I like to fly in the airships.
5) Is the world big?
Yeah, Pretty big.
6) Is the music good?
I love it.
7) Would there be alot of lag for someone with great broadband connection and a good computer?
Mines Fine.
8) Does it take time to get used to?
This was the most annoying thing ever, the controls are VERY confusing when you first play, after about 2 days of playing it's actually very easy. But I spent hours asking people how to play, how to get weapons, and what not. That's all...

A direct connection is probably more reliable. I've heard a few people complain that the wireless sometimes cuts out on them. Causing lag or just diconnections. But you can use either really.

That's all... Ok, i wanted to add a few more things. 1. Yea, what everyone else said pretty much. 2. Yep. Well, you can have 6 per party, but you can pair up to 3 parties, called an alliance, for a total of 18 members. 3. Well, once you hit Lv 20, you accept a quest from a guy in Jeuno. Once you've finished that quest, your current job Lv has to be atleast 15 to ride a Chocobo. 4. Yep. 5. Yep, its big. 6. Yep, in my opinion it is. 7. Nope, not at all, except on rare occasions, and places where there are tons and tons of people like the Jeuno Auction House. 8. Well, i've had FF experience, rpg experience, and mmorpg experience, plus i had a few months to learn everything i could about it before it was released. After that, after the first few days, the controls were very easy and fluid for me.

1) What are the battles like? Do you go into a Battle Scene like all the other Final Fantasy game? No they are in the field you walk around in like most other MMORPGs 2) Can you have tema battles and how many can be in a team? Yes you can 2-6 people in a party or 7-18 people for an alliance. 3)Is it easy to get a Chocobo and can only certain classes get it because I can't imagine one of those Mage guys riding one... all classes can get one at level 20 and it is extreamly easy. 4) What's the most fun thing to do in it? Events, quests, endgame, leveling. Everything is fun (cept for farming ;) 5) Is the world big? Its massive, first time i was in the konshtat highlands it took me like 20 minutes to get across it. i know the way now by heart and its still a 15 minute walk. 6) Is the music good? Yes, asdly not done by Nobuo Uematsu but still good. 7) Would there be alot of lag for someone with great broadband connection and a good computer? No not at all, i barely lag in this game, inless im in besieged or aht urghan but those are big things with like 700+ people. 8) Does it take time to get used to? Depends, i literally was never a noob at this game since i read the guide book and researched for about a month before the shipment with my game came in.
