I'm stuck in the cave of hidden music. I know you're supposed to hit the stalagmites simultaneously, but it's not working. What am I supposed to do?

You have to hit them accordin to the sounds you hear in the cave, so just hit them in the right order. (I did it trying every order ) So don't panic. If you can solve the next mission (Skaal test of wisdom), than post on my thread, will you. Thx

If I remember correctly it's about 2/3 the way to Skaal NE of the Earth Stone. If you have that map of the island you should be able to see it on the map.

In the cave of hidden music the top three stalagmtes will fire in a specific order making specific tones. If you hit the bottom ones each will correspond to one on the top but not in the same order. Listen to the song played by the top row and then play it on the bottom row. I believe the first one is three notes. After you match the first song the top row will play another one. this time all the bottom ones will have switched the notes the play so re-learn them and then play the new top row song. I think it is five notes. After that your journal should update and your done.

Are you supposed to hit the lower stalagmites barefisted or something? I dont' get any sound when I strike (except the usual strike sound) and I've tried it with music turned down, and effects up, music and effects up, everything. Bug? Pretty hard to match them with the top sounds when I can't hear the lower

You have to let the top row play so that you can hear the tune. Then just hit each of the bottom ones so you can hear what sound they make. They do not make the same sound as the pillar above them so you have to hear the tone. Don't pay any attention to what order the top pillars fire in, just listen to the tune and then play the same tune on the bottom. Again, it will be a different order on the stalagmites. Once you finish the first song I don't remember if the journal updates or not but each stalagmite, top and bottom, will switch notes and the top row will play a new song. Again, pay no attention to the order the fire in, it doesn't matter. Just listen to the tune, fiddle with the bottom ones to learn their new sounds, and then play the new tune on the bottom. The second song played is longer than the first one but when you finish it your journal will update, also the cave will stop making noise if I remember right. Hope it helps.
