Welcome to the Neoseeker Grand Theft Auto Vice City FAQ and Rules thread. In this thread, you well find a large and comprehensive list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) formed by members of Neoseeker and other participants. All future posters are asked to view this thread and also asked to not post any questions this FAQ answers.

Also in this thread, you well find the rules of the forum. The sole purpose of the rules is to make this forum more enjoyable to posters and viewers of this forum.

1. No Pornographic Material. Posting any pictures or links with/to nudity or suggested themes is unacceptable, resulting in an instant ban.

2. Stay On Topic. This forum is for the discussion of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for the PC platform. Please try to keep everything within these boundrys.

3. No Flaming. It's human to make mistakes, we are not all perfect. So please, do not insult anyone, it is unexceptable.

4. Do Not Create or Contribute to Spam. Spam is unneeded posts, remarks, or just plain junk. If you contribute to it in any way, by posting a reply or posting the topic, you are just making it harder for the moderator and the people.

5. Respect Others. Sure, you may have different opinions about things, you may hate the person, but please, respect others and the shall respect you. It builds a stronger community.

6. Treat New Members Like Any Other. It's a near-proven fact that most newbies (New members) do not read the rules, or topic listings. But be nice to these people, you were one too. Kindly re-direct them to a the proper threads.

7. Do Not Type Improperly. This means do not type in all CAPS, do not type in num-language (Spelling words with numbers ex. 1337), and try not to abbreviate every word.

8. Try to Be Grammaticley Correct. Try to keep your posts grammatically correct. It's hard for people to read something that looks like it has been written by a 3 year old.

9. Report Feature. If someone strongly disobeys the rules, by posting pornographic images, flaming a member strongly, or any others (Keep common sence in mind), then please, report the message. By doing so you are helping the community and the moderator.

10. Do NOT Abuse the Report Feature. The Report feature is there for a reason, to stop spamming. By reporting a message that does not need so, you are disobeying the rules and possibley get a ban. If you accidentaly report a thread, quickly PM The Current Moderator and tell him about your mistake.

11. Moderators Are Only Human. This means that even moderators can make mistakes. They volunteer their time for the better of the forum. Treat them with the proper respect, if they make a mistake, don't get on their case.

12. Try Not To Repeat Threads Yes, We know, there are tons of threads in this forum. But try not to repeat them. Use the search feature and the Topic Listings before you post.

13. Do Not Have a One-On-One Discussion. This mostly applies when there is a thread made for just two members to tale to (Example: Hey Smoke!). If you want to talk One-on-One with a member, PM them.

14. Do Not Advertise Websites This mostly applies for the Thread topic. Sure, you can put stuff like.. "This Website Should have the mod you are looking for", but don't put "Check out my new Vice City website!". You can advertise these through your signature.

15. Be Specific When Posting. Trust me, if you need help, we well try to help you. But when you post something like "My game doesn't work", it dosn't really give us anything to work on. Be specific, even when creating a thread title.

16. Do Not Double Post. Try not to post two times in a row. If you need something in it, simpley edit your message.

17. Do Not Curse Heaviley We know, this is a M rated game, but that doesn't give you the right to curse heaviley. It offends some users, and for others its just hard to read.

1. I need help on missions, can you help me?
To get help on mission, check out this thread: Mission Help, or if you need help with bosses, use these submitted by ChiroVette: Rosenburg, The Colnel's, Diaz, Vercetti Empire (Also Kent Paul and Diaz 2), Avery Carrington.

2. Why can't I post in this thread?
The Thread is closed, or you have been banned for a reason you should know, if not, check with the current moderator or section mod.

3. How many Islands are in GTA:VC?
There are two main islands, and three small islands, Starfish, Prawn, and Leafy Links (Golf Coarse), which is actualy a true island.

4. Where can I find flyable vehicles?
There is a Maveric on top of the Vercetti Estate and one on top the Condo. The Sparrow can be found at various locations around the city. The VCPD helicopter can be found on top the building directly to the LEFT when leaving the second island heading to Prawn. The Skimmer can be found at the Film Studio after the mission "Dildo Dodo"

5. How do I steal a boat?
Simply press triangle while on a boat, the hard part is getting on. You can find boats parked at the docks in the first island.

6. Help! I'm stuck with the remote bomb!
This happens whenever you get 100%, to fix this, simply go into the Airport, Golfcoarse, or any other place that takes your weapons away before you get in. Submitted by Dragonite Ball Z

7. I need a place to store my car, where can I put it?
You can buy properties which sometimes have garages, the best places would be the Condo or the Sunshine Autos. They can be found Here

8. Where is the Import/Export garage I hear about?
They can be found at the Sunshine Autos garage, once you complete one list you should get a extra car and another list to complete.

9. How do I fly the helicopter or Skimmer?
The Helicopter controls are relatively simple, Hold down X until take off, and L2 and R2 buttons control the way you fly, holding up would let you got faster, but loose altitude, left and right lets you strafe.
The Skimmer is harder, similar to the dodo, take off is a bit harder. It is important that you try to take off on clear weather, stormy weather creates bumpy tension. Hold down X to take off, when you get enough speed, up should let you take off. From there it's pretty simple.

10. Who is Mr. Black and Mr. Teal?
Mr. Black is the man you get assassination missions from, while Mr. Teal was the man you killed to get the Cell Phone.

11. How do I pick up a hooker?
To pick up one of the ladys of the night, pull up to them in a "nice" car, pull up to one and wait. If she doesn't come, move to the next one. After you pick one up, drive to a secluded area (No traffic or pedestrians) and the car should start bouncin

12. Where can I download this game
Downloading this game or any other game (excluding freeware) is illegal and thereby not to be discussed at this website, which is discussed Here.

13. Where can I get a Helicopter or Airplane?
They can be found at various places around the game, I well update this answer soon.

14. What is the "Ultimate Vehicle" that everyone talks about?
The "Ultimate Vehicle" displayed in the guide, is an apache-type helicopter called "The Hunter

15. How do I get a Rhino Tank?
You can get it one of two ways, A, you can steal one from the Police at level 6th. Or B, collect 90 packages.

16. How do I get a Sea-Sparrow?
The Sea Sparrow (Water-type Helicopter with machine guns) can only be accessed by getting 80 hidden packages.

17. Where can I find the Hunter?
The Hunter can be found (A) at the Military Air Base after you beat the game or (B) At Ocean Beach.

18. How do I get into buildings?
There are only certain buildings you can enter, if you see an open door, try to go in, you might be able to find something .

20. I can't find the rampages, can you help me?

22. How do I get a Zebra Taxi?
Simply Complete all of the missions and collect the asset for Kauffman Cabs

23. What about the Hydroliques on the Taxi?
To get them, all you need to do is pick up 100 passengers in the taxi, this can be done in separate runs.

24. Can I steal the submarine?
Nope, the submarine floating around is just for viewing purposes only

25. Where can I brag about my 100%?
So, you got everything in Vice City? Wanna brag? Go Here

26. How do I get Unlimited Run?
To get unlimited Run, simply get to level 12 on the Ambulance Missions.

27. How do I get up to 150 Health?
[i]To get all of this extra health, deliver pizza all the way to level 10!

28. How do I get 150 armor?
You need to get up to level 12 on the Police Missions, the easiest way to do so is to do them by air, The Hunter.

29. How can I swim?
There is no possible way to swim.

30. Can I get weapons delivered to my hideout?
You can get weapons delivered to your Ocean Beach and Vercetti Estate hideout by collecting Hidden Packages
Mr Viper adds: If you get all the hidden packages before buying the apartments near the Arena, they appear on the roof.


31. Can I ever get into the air base?
To get into the airbase without being shot down, simply throw on the police uniform and strut right in

32. How do I steal a jet?
There is no way to steal any aircraft at the airport

33. What are the current cheats for this game?

34. My game crashes, how can I fix this?
The problem here is technical or hardware problems, ask Here to get some answers.

35. How do I open all of the islands?
All Islands are accessed after the mission "Phnom Pehn '86'", but Starfish Island is opened after the mission "Guardian Angel"

36. How do I buy businesses and Other buildings?
To buy some property, simply walk up to the pink circle and a popup should appear in the upper left corner telling you to hit a button to purchase.

37. How can I buy places such as the Malibu?
After the mission "Shakedown", Avery should call you on your cell phone about 'investments'.

38. Where is the "Easter Egg"
The easter egg is near the VCPD helicopter. When your up there, there should be a building right next to the helicopter, pull out your sniper rifle (with laser) and go across the line until your laser disappears, when you find that spot, make a leap of faith toward it.

39. How do I go underwater?

40. Can I talk to the Moderator?

43. How Can I go faster on the motorcycle?
To get any two wheeled vehicle to go faster, simply lightly press forward until he crouches down, not standing. Keep it at that stance and you well go faster.

44. I hate falling off my motor cycle! Any way not to?
All you need to do, is get onto a motorcycle (of any sort) and park right next to a close-changing thing, the clothes change icon has to be to your RIGHT and you can't be all the way on it, hardly even 1/4. Get off the bike and get back on, when this is done, it should morph you inside of the bike, hold forward (Always hold forward ) and then hit the gas!
Mr Viper Adds:If you get out a gun or select a gun the glitch will unglitch and you can fall off again


45. What do I have to do to get 100%
100% checlist for all of your needs

46. How do I rob stores?
Pull out a gun (any gun) and aim it at the store clerk (Ammunation guys well retaliate.), then wait a while, money should appear. If you run off, he well pull the alarm, so your best bet is a one hit kill.

1. How do I get a picture under my name?
[i]To have your own custom picture show up in the forums, you must first have a graphic in jpeg or gif format that's no larger then 60x60 pixels and 8Kb in filesize. To upload your graphic, Edit your profile while logged in (look under the Edit your bio/pic option. From that screen, simply browse to the graphic and submit the forum. Once a graphic has been uploaded, make sure that you check your forum preferences to see whether you have selected "YES" to "Include Profile Pic in Forum postings". After everything is done, make sure you refresh your browser to load the image.

2. What is the "not-such-a-newbie" thing for?
Those are the user ranks. Your user rank depends on the number of posts you have made. The order is. Every so many posts it changes.

3. How do I get words directly under my name?
Those are called Custom Titles. Any member with over 50 posts can obtain a custom title by clicking on the forum prefs link while signed in. The forum prefs page has a "custom title" field that will automatically become available once you reach 50 posts. Save your forum title by clicking on "finish" when done

6. Whats a NeoPM
A NeoPM is a private message sent between two members, to send one, goto MyNeo.Forum and find the link. Another way is to click on the member's profile and you should see it in the window. The final one is simply clicking on the page icon under the avatar.

7. Where can I find all the smilies?

8. How do I put a picture into my signature?
These are called "Signatures", first, you must upload a picture that has the correct weight (Size) of 255 (Well be explained in 16)

9. My post isn't related to Vice City, where do I put it?
Pick a forum!

10. Why Can't I post in a certain thread?
The reason is because the thread was closed, meaning that a moderator disabled posts in that particular thread.

11. Why Can't I post in any thread in this forum?
You have probably been banned. Banned means that you can no longer post in the forum until the elapsed time runs out.

12. Can I post my opinoins about the moderators?
You can either NeoPM them, or post in the Moderator's Corner

13. Why was my post deleated?
Because it was either off topic or went "Out of the lines".

14. Why was my thread closed?
Because it was off topic, one was already created, or just spam

15. What are all of the markup tags, such as bolding?
