re: Screenshots II (The Sequel!) :)

Ok I'm creating Yardie (Yep the Jamican gang from GTA3) skins and I wanted to replace the rent-a-cop gang with these. I didn't edit the security guard skin because the model was hard to work with so I changed the model to hna.dff. I made the skin by using the hna.txd as a guide and peices from the yardie skin in gta3. Now I went to go look on how it went into the game and it looks like this...

Now the model replaced the security guard dff which I wanted, but the skin didn't make it on it which I have no idea why. I didn't look like that when I put the skin in.

So I was hopeing if one of you could tell me what I did wrong because I don't know, all I know is it has something to do with the texture but it didn't do the pinky thing when I put it in with ViceTXD, it looked fine, just not in the game. Its not the final version of the skin I just messed around to see how it would look like in the game.

The hna.dff model is not assigned to the security guard's texture (even though you had modified it). Use hna.txd, import your own custom skin into it, and rename to gda.txd. That should work.

It doesn't show up in the game, now it just shows the regular PIGs. Does it matter if I used ViceTXD? I renamed it to hna and replaced it with the gda and it don't work

You have to import the Yardie's skin into hna.txd first, then rename the file to gda.txd.

re: Screenshots II (The Sequel!) :)

There's no need to build a new .txd for this, just modify an existing one.

Heh... I'll walk you through.

Extract hna.txd from gta3.img with IMG Tool.
Open hna.txd with ViceTXD.
Replace the bitmap inside the .txd with your own.
While it's still on your hard drive, rename the file (hna.txd) to gda.txd.
Replace it with the old gda.txd inside gta3.img.
