Messin’ With the Man:

Okay now you have to prove to Mitch and the boys that you have the mettle to be one of them! You are going to give Vice City a kick in the ass to use his words. A lot of people have trouble with this mission because they assume that you have to use a Bike just because Mitch tells you that he is giving you one to cause all the chaos you can in a small amount of time. Basically you are given two minutes, a chaos meter and a shit load of innocent victims (ya know, the pedestrians and various law enforcement of our very favorite city!). You need to fill up the chaos meter in the allotted time to pass the mission. For completing this task you earn cash, the respect of Mitch and the gang and a 5 star wanted level that you will have to ditch when the mission is passed. I have never had much success on a bike with 2 stars let alone 5. I just find it too easy for law enforcement, okay and trees, to knock me off my bike.

So what I do is simple: Toggle to everyone’s favorite fun toy, the Rocket Launcher and from a relatively safe distance start blowing up passing cars, pedestrians, the one or two windows near the bar, all parked bikes and of course all of the law enforcement vehicles that take exception to your wreaking of havoc in this fine metropolis! Oh and every time you hear a chime (The same tone you hear when you pass through any checkpoint in many of the races in the game) you will see your chaos meter go up another notch. If you keep shooting at nothing you will not hear many chimes, but the more civilian cars, pedestrians, windows, cop cars, police helicopters, SWAT vans and FBI Ranchers you can blow up the more that meter fills up till you complete the mission, or fail if you run out of time! Oh and if you like, Molotov cocktails and the flame thrower raise your wanted level particularly fast, more so even than the Rocket launcher! DO yourself a favor if you go this route and complete Firefighter missions level 12 so you are fireproof, otherwise you risk burning yourself up while trying to pass this mission.

Once you are done, you can use any method available to get rid of your 5 stars. You have a Pay ‘n’ Spray just south of you in Little Haiti that can wash away those 5 stars in a hurry but you will need some good driving and “on foot’ skills because the FBI in particular is VERY tough and those FBI ranchers will be pounding you all over the road.

You can go the cheesy way by using a trick of the game also. Once you complete this mission just run up the stairs and save your game at the Skumhole Shack. Then you can try to lose your 5 stars safely, because even if you get Wasted or Busted when you reload the save, your Wanted level magically disappears! This also works if you save the game with 5 stars, then just do nothing except immediately reload the save! Poof, no more wanted level!
