re: audio hardware problems |

I have audio problems too and didnt want to start a new topic for it. The thing with my VC is the sound is delayed 1-2 seconds and sometimes some of the voices or some things have a slight echo. I tried re-installing it and it didnt do anything. My computer is fairly decent and never gives me problems like this. I'm not too good with computers so bare with me. Any help/free computers/advice would be appreciated.

re: audio hardware problems |
quote cuoicoidI'm sorry, you will have to reformat your computer. Just kidding, download latest audio drivers and update VC. There may be some fixes for these kinds of problems. -------------------

GTA Vice City fails to recognize my soundcard (Yamaha PCI, YF724F DS-1). In Options menu sez "no audio hardware". Clearly not true; winamp plays and Windows XP chimes happily. I have installed the latest drivers for the Yamaha card (legacy, native), updated DirectX 9.0, made sure the Yamaha card is selected as the primary sound device, basically done everything my ReadMe and the take2 games recommended and still no solution. It is just something with my software? Any leads would be appreciated as I've just done a system upgrade specifically to play this game and now it refuses to work...can't play with no audio, dig ?

I had the same problem, tried the stuff Rockstar Suggested, didn't work for me either. I have integrated sound on an MSI Mobo, that no work, then I bought me a Turtle Beach Riviera sound card, that no happy. Can't be all bum hardware, mebbe I need me a software upgrade?
