hey, i'm a beginner and i'm gonna start with playing online but every time i play, i control half the map but i still get slayed by the egyptians, .
Anyone with a 'anti'faction for the egypts, and a strategy please, would apreciate it.

the middle and split men and kill general in massive charge then hopefully domino effect in morale drop. If not circle in groups of about 5 each and attack 4 of their best infantry or cav(5 units per 0ne unit of enemy) actually i have never face egyptians ive been carthage and rome but not an eastern country

First, we will talk economy, build up your economy so you gain insane amounts of money, then you should easily be able to bribe everyone on the world map and build large armies.

Use several settlements to build each unit in, each unit should really be trained in different settlements to one another as it is far quicker than training a full army in just one province and using a powerful navy you should easily be able to hold off any naval attacks while quickly transporting your land units to any part of the world.

Your navy is key to beating anyone as long as they have at least one of the 75 out of 103 provinces able to build a port, destroy their navy and blockade their ports at any opportunity you get, it will cause them to lose out on valuable trade income and by destroying their navy beforehand, you also eliminate most of the risk of a counter attack allowing you to block all their naval income and transport your land units safely.

Spies can detect anything in a province or army, use these to find out how good your enemies are at negotiating, then send in the assassins to take care of whoever has a high influence value, but make sure it's a good assassin and they have a high success percentage before agreeing to send them on their mission, otherwise you could be sending them on a suicide mission, after any complications are sorted, send in a diplomat to bribe the settlement/army if they succeed, the bribed army should disappear or the settlement should become yours, otherwise try buying it by offering money and demanding the settlement in question, if they refuse, a victory for your own army always make you more persuasive.

If all else fails battle!!! if you have a spy you should know what you're fighting, if you do not however make sure you know what kind of units an enemy is likely to fight with by checking the Custom Battle Egypt mostly uses phalanx pikemen and light cavalry, the emtire strength of a phalanx is on it's frontline so it's sides and flank are it's most vulnerable points, as for the light cavalry, I'm not really sure what to do with them, I usually attack all my enemies from their front with a solid infantry and in the sides or rear with cavalry or whatever's nearest.

Hope this was helpful, even if you never asked about campaign, it should be helpful for when you do try to conquer the known world.

I do have one question left, those archer chariots everytime I attack they just run off and come back, anyone got a 'anti'unit for that?

i usually send one unit of my own cavalry archers and one unit of regular cavalry. their cavalry archers will end up getting tangled up with your guys so your cavalry will catch up to them and engage them in close combat while your horse archers are able to pick them off if they try to run again.

anyway, does anyone still play this online? and how long does a match take? i have a feeling it would take about 9 billion hours... do all of the battles get simmed when you are online or do you actually play them out?

use horses to chase them to the end of the map if u have no horses use infatry to do the same put in triple speed

oh and kill them last
