Frontline vs. Rising Sun

Which one should I get? I was going to get Rising Sun but wasn't sure if it was really any better than Frontline.

I would say get Frontline and then get RS. Frontline is longer and you have more replay value.

re: Frontline vs. Rising Sun

Frontline is longer, but RS has way more replayability, because of secret objectives, bonuses, tools to be discovered, and various paths to take.

FL has more missions, but they are much shorter and are all set on a single path, and there are no secret tools to be found, or extra objectives.

in all due respect to lkjhgfdsa's reply (he is awsome; he helped me out more than once) i personally think that frontline has more replay value because it is longer, i'll explain: it is true that rising sun has various paths to find and take, secret objectives to do,bonuses, and tools to be discovered but if you buy rising sun eventually you will get all of these things in due time and nothing new will exsist to be found therefore you are stuck playing just the game for gamesake reason, hence frontline being the longer of the two at least you log more play time

I agree with Jimi. Even if Rising Sun has more things to unlock, it does get boring with only ten missions. I'd rather see 20 exciting and replayable short missions than 10 long and dull ones.

It is very, very short unless you go out and collect the medals and film canisters. I've nearly collected all the film canisters (I think I've got 4 left) and I've got 5/10 medals so even then it's only about a month long (I got the the game 2 weeks ago).

re: Frontline vs. Rising Sun

rising sun should be rented...ok so u collect all the film canisters and other items but what about your brother donny...has any figured out if you can rescue him or is it set up for a sequel?...i rented rising sun and finished it within a few hours on the normal setting...as for the bonuses...they tend to get boring real quickly...personally i wouldnt purchase the game i recommend renting it.

No hard feelings about our personal preferances, but I'd like to remind you all that MOH:FL didn't offer any substantial multiplayer, while, if you read my post in this
http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/index.php?fn=view_thread&t=322029
thread, you'll see that, even after all the bonuses are found, all the medals and rewards acquired, and the single player game played to death, there's still an almost infinite amount of fun to be had with multiplayer, either by yourself or with friends, OR online, it's just alot of fun.

This past weekend after finishing up with the medals all I've been doing is the Team Deathmatch, by myself with three bots on my team, fighting against four other bots (I recommend the River Kwai multiplayer level, it reminds me alot of a game of capture the flag)

So, while FL has alot more levels to enjoy, and believe me, I certainly enjoy them, RS still holds out with more replay value when you consider the possibilities with multiplayer.

re: Frontline vs. Rising Sun

what u play as Donny in the sequel?what getting out of the prison camp?...and I would say RS is way much better than FL, yes it made mistakes but hell they got a better intro mission than FL u gotta say it "Day of Imfamy" mission was better than "D-Day" at the start of FL. And RS has uhhh how should I say it hmmm.....ONLINE GAMEPLAY... and if u dont have the network adapter dont worry, 2 player campaign, and and 4 p multiplayer offline and 4 bots

re: Frontline vs. Rising Sun

I'd probably say to get FL, I felt that RS was even more linear than FL was and without such amazing levels as Arnhem Knights and D-Day.

re: Frontline vs. Rising Sun

How can you say RS was more linear than Frontline? RS's non-linearity was one of the things going for it. There are tons of routes through each mission, and with the machete as well. Take Guadalcanal for example, the most unlinear mission in the game. There were at least 10 paths off the main track that I found.

re: Frontline vs. Rising Sun

After playing even more of Rising sun I guess I would go with rising sun..

Although its not a major improvement over the other game. The graphics are similar, new weapons though. (Although weapons really don't matter much to me.. Whether its a Colt or a Degeal it doesn't really matter..)

If you are low on cash then Front line. If you played frontline and are willing to pay $50 then sure, why not?
