I think Jubei would win, even though I like Sam more. Jubei would win because he is actually a member of the Oni clan, whereas Samanosuke simply has the ogre's gauntlet. Also, Jubei defeated Nobunaga much easier then samomsuke. i still firmly believe though that Jubei had a messed up family, considering his dad got it on with a freakish woman with a slug tail!

Even though I like Sam, I think Jubei could kick his butt. It's like Ali vs Tyson, Sam is tyson and Jubei is Ali. Jubei is wiser and he's not for all the strength but Sam is young and ruthless.

Yeb, No doubt about it Samanosuke would beat Jubei, plus Samanosuke is cooler then Jubei.

Jubei has one main advantage: He IS part Oni. He cna harnesss the power by pure will, whereas Samanosuke needs his gauntlet to have any real power.

But I'm still for Samanosuke. He's stronger, smarter, and more skilled than Jubei.

My vote is for Sam. I have played all three Onimusha series and must say - Sam has more experience fighting, better range of weapons and better armours.

Plus, he have 6 MAXed up weapons instead of 3 if ya count the replay version.

And Sam can turn into an Oni whenever he likes. All he (or ya) have to do is my R3/4 button to commence the transformation which will last till the gauntlet runs out of purple souls.

Jubei can also turn Oni, being he has appropriate souls.

Thats rubbish. Sam is not of Oni bloodline. He was given power in his gauntlet only by the Ogre Clan in Onimusha 1. Jubei didn't need some gauntlet to make his powerful, as the power of the Oni is in his blood. How can one who is not even part Oni ever reach true Onimusha form?

Well, he did at the end of Onimusha 1, and single handedly slayed Fortinbras with one stroke. Whereas, Jubei even at his full oni power, had to struggle to defeat Nobunaga.

Thats doesn't make his Onimusha form any more "true" than that which Jubei reached. And also, don't be forgetting that Samanosuke had already considerably kicked Fortinbras' ass for about 5 minutes before he killed him once and for all. Fortinbras was on his last bit of strength when Sam finished him off.

True true. But lest we forget he IS THE supreme demon. Who gave Nobunaga all his super terrific powers? Fortinbras. Samanosuke was also weakened from the battle. But what did he do? Get pissed, turn Oni, and slaughter him.
Jubei was all Oni-powered for quite a while, and STILL had to try his best to overcome him, Nobunaga, who still was a step below Fortinbras in terms of power.
Now. Oni power aside, Samanosuke still has the distinct advantage. He's an amazing combatant with just about any weapon in his hands. He's an extremely experienced fighter, and never loses a battle.
