my game is running really slow and i've got nearly reccomended specs but when i started i had finishe talkin to the fatman and i went outside and it all went majorly slow, i paused then went into options and then it went really slow again. i patched it to v6 before i even started playng. need help badly. thanks.

I had the same problem and nearly went mad trying to sort it. My comp reached most of the reccomended specs but wouldnt even run smooth on low setting. Eventually it turned out I just had to download the latest drivers (dugh) from ATI to allow my dual core processor to work properly even though my PC is brand spanking new!
Still have to use static shadows but apart from that can run on high res and high detail, hope this helps.

I found the dynamic lighting killed my old Pc (6800gt gpu) so I found i had to go for medium to totally off (dynamic lighting) setting to get the game to playable level. Patching is definately next step (though if you have save games prior to patching they will no longer work!)I also spent great amount of time playing with the settings until I found the best compromise - though there are sections where game slows no matter what - try to play through these and at times I had to just re-start game/ or re-start computer which seemed to work (memory leak bugs?) This is a great game despite the bugs in it so stick with it as it really is worth the effort
