Refueling?

has anyone refueled yet? Is there refueling in this game? I haven't been playing this game as much as I want to these last 2 weeks, so I feel like I'm somewhat behind. Forgive me if this is an obvious question.

JM

re: Refueling?

nope, i dont think there is any refueling in the game...
except for when u land on the carrier, but no midair refueling. Only time that that happens is the cutscene in arcade mode.

re: Refueling?

It was a bit tough going but I manged my first air
to air refueling using the F/A-18C.It's the little
things like this that make this such a great game,
despite some of the minor gripes I have.

The replay looked good but the only thing is I was
quite wobbly getting my aircraft into position to
hook up with the drouge line.I'am going to try this
again with a different aircraft

re: Refueling?

It's in free flight. Monument I think, don't remember what weather setting, but try both. As soon as you start, look up at about a 35 degree angle and you'll see a black dot on the horizon, it be the tanker. It doesn't refuel everything, but most jets/planes can.

re: Refueling?

Yeah, the replays are coo' too. The tanker is one of many flying objects that appear in certain stages, at certain times, in free flight. Nearly every stage in free flight has either one big mofo jet, or a formation of fighters or attackers in the sky somewhere. They are a pain in the arse to find, but they are there. In that same monument level, on the alternate weather setting, on your 1:00 o' clock and about 35-40 degrees high, you may see a pair of reflecting flashes that will dissappear into the clouds. If you use a fast craft, like the F-15's, Mig series, F-14/16 and perhaps 18, and some fly by sight skill, you can catch up with these guys and fly in formation with them for the replay vids.

Makes me wonder if somwhere in them stages, if there are any heli's to see.

re: Refueling?

Yeah found them, they were T-2's. I also flew formation with a TU-95 on the snow mountain level. To find him I just flew straight and level and it eventually appears off to the right. The replays are great allright. Saved my best refuelling effort in the VX-9 Tomcat. Nice.

re: Refueling?

Yeah, refuling and flying in formation gives you freat reeplays. Do someone know about any other locations?

And... If there fighters, tankers and other, maybe there is.... a UFO?

re: Refueling?

There is a UFO in one of the scramble missions. After you take the picture, you're told not to talk about it. It really freaked me out when I saw it, cuz I wasn't expecting it. If I ever make it into the Air Force, i'm pretty sure i'll see a handful of them out there.

Also, each mission in free flight has a fighter formation somewhere flying around. They can be hard to find, because they fly in one straight line, so if you don't track them from startup, they dissappear. One of the desert areas, the one with the tanker that refuels you, has a coupla jets flying if you pick the alternate time of day setting. Fly straight and up a bit, and eventually you'll see a light in the sky (it's glare). Follow it with a fast fighter, and project it's course once the flare diminishes. Hopefully you'll find the fighters. They are going pretty fast, and turn on AB's every so often.

re: Refueling?

Have you cleared that UFO at 70,000 feet mission yet? I still haven't done that one. I've done everything but that one. It looks like a cigar shaped object. Perhaps a missile.
