Worth Buying?

Is this worth buying? and if you had to compare the value of the two games (the first and this one) which one would it be? Also has it got good replay ability and length and is it linear like the last game?

re: Worth Buying?

It's probably fair to say that if you liked the first 'Baldurs Gate ~ Dark Alliance', then you'll almost certainly like the sequel. Whereas the first game spanned approximately 45 linear levels and allowed you to choose from 3 playable characters, the second boasts more than 80 levels and 5 slectable characters (each with their own unique missions). However, although you do get to choose the order in which you complete these missions, the game is still fairly linear in the sense that you will enventually have to come back to play the missions you skipped at some point or other.

'Baldurs Gate ~ Dark Alliance II' definately offers more replay value than its predecessor, but only because there are more levels to play through, characters to choose from, monsters to battle, and weapons/armour to customise. Having said this, however, both games are extremely similar in the way they look and play, and the second could be regarded as more of an add-on than a true sequel.

Basically, if I were to recommend which 'Baldurs Gate' to purchase, then I'd say "go get both". On a purely individual basis, however, I'd certainly opt for the second. If you already own the first game (which is already available on the budget range) then I'd advise you to wait until the second one drops in value before you go out and buy it as there simply isn't enough difference between the two games to warrant paying the full retail price.

Hope this helps, Mojo

re: Worth Buying?

Thanks for the information, I'll probably wait a bit for the price to drop before I buy it as it is $75 for the game.

re: Worth Buying?

Can you give any reasons too say why you say no? How should I know what you mean by no? It could just be your opinion but I need stats and reasons not to buy this game.
