If u could make ur own character to put into the game. what would he be? race/gender/type/special spells and attacks/look. just tryin to keep people interested in the forum and keep em thinkin till baldur's gate dark alliace 2 comes out january 5th. I believe it's the fifth. perphaps the 14. anyway, give me some ideas.

probably, a male, wild elf, hunter/ranger w. animal summoning spells and really good wit a bow or short swords

I like the idea of animal summoning spells.

What about a shape changer? That would be cool, it would bring in an element of stealth.

If there was a bunch of lizards up ahead then turn into a lizard and walk past. There would have to be a time limit on how long you could change for though, otherwise it could get too easy.

i would make zak do'urden, the dark drow elf and father of drizzt do'urden. he would be a weapon master just like in the book, but still a little magically inclined like all noble drow.

I would half to make a Dwarf and he would be a pally that way he could heal because, everyone knows Dwarfs are weak against poison and u would need some resistances.

But U could not venture to far off of the Dwarven ways of the good old hack and slash kill'em all fighting style.

dwarves are more resistant to poison than most other races, including humans.... fyi

Im not really all that familiar with the classes and stuff in Dungeons and Dragons, but I would want my character to be proficient with Bows, and two handed light weaponry.


I was a bit surprised to see that the Dwarf in this game, Borador, was best with a crossbow. In most cases where I see a dwarf, he's usually packing a big Battleaxe, Warhammer, or a Mace.

I selected him at first thinking that he would be that type of character, and soon realised that most of his abilities go with the Crossbow.

I gave him a battleaxe, but he just doesnt do as well as Id like him to.

Same thing with the Elf. I figured she would have the Bow, beings that just about every elf Ive ever seen was great with a bow, but it turns out she is best unarmed.

I think it's about time there was a 'female' warrior similar to the barbarian character and 'not' necessarily with an enormous rack! Being of the female persuasion, I get tired of choosing female characters in RPG's who are either extremely well endowed or scantily clad! How about a female character who looks like a body builder and is equally as strong as any male counterpart? Is this too much to ask for?

A male Kensai-->Thief. He would have the basic fighting abilities, improved critical, combat reflexes etc., along with stealth and disarm traps. He would also have a feat that gives a +2 bonus to hit and damage per level(feat not character) and a feat that made his attacks for the next 6 seconds due max damage.

This is a good point brought up here. My lady thinks the same thing. When she and I sit down and play games, she gets frustrated with the "Big breasted, thong wearing" stereotype of most female characters.

Although BGDAII did have 2 solid female characters in it, which she really enjoyed, Vhaidra and Allessia. Allessia can be played in the same fashion as dorn if you want, as she can wield great weapons and wear full plate armor at the very start, but its just really not the same as having a full fledged female warrior to choose.

I keep thinking "Red Sonja" whenever I think female warrior. Man that chick kicked some serious boo-tay in her time.

I think they should either make diverse characters to suit both male and female players, or allow us to create our own characters by ourselves, and make what we want.

Champions of Norrath, which is made by snowblind, the people behind BGDAI, has both male and female versions of all their characters. And of course BGII allows you to create a chraracter completely from scratch.

if i could make my own character it would have to a dragon. in the real game my mom played as a shape changing dragon. her character would be in human form until a battle.

If I put a character in the game, it would be my current character in the actual D&D game.

Male/Gnome/Delver-Wizard (three foot three, straight black hair, always smiles, otherwise gnomish looking.

Special Skills: Disarm Trap, Exotic Weapon Proficiency, Burning Hands, Magic Missile, Tenser's Floating Disk, Trap Sense(increase percentage of detectable traps by ranks), Knowledge (Know what monsters are weak to by increasing ranks, more ranks the more monsters he knows, he would say this out loud to the player when he is near a monster)

Sayings if he stands in one spot too long:
"I got to be on my way, I got a book to write." (He actually writes histories of cities in the real game)

"Why can't I move, where did you put the controller?"
"I don't have all day...correction, I do."

And the funny one:
"My, this game is interesting. Very gnomish indeed."
(The second sentence is his catchphrase when exposed to very innovative things from technology to fizz-pops)
