I'd say 3/4 stars...if you like the genre. Plenty of bugs; plenty of ships, pirates, quests, items, jobs, as well. I personally think its worth the money but I have a feeling you'll hear otherwise from many sources. I'd say if you liked the movie and youre into being a pirate and the era (late 1600s), then go for it. Better yet, find a friend whos got a copy and play his for a while. But you didn't hear it from me.

A game that could have been great, but unfortunately it was rushed into production. The naval combat is great (probably the best part of the game) and the fighting system is pretty descent for an RPG. The real faults are a lack of involved story with branching side quests, and the buggy, glitchy gameplay. It glitches so often (it differs between copies of games) that I have to save after every battle, every purchase, every etc. So, not bad if you're really desperate for a RPG for X Box.

I agree with Gunny about the lack of side missions. I had fun with it but it seems like an older game now. I hate being at the end, already finished it once and doing the boring side missions. It gets pretty boring once you beat it. At the start, middle of the game I was always amazed to see my battleship docked in port, made me feel pretty bad-a's to see my ship in port. But that can only do so much for liking the game.

Fist let me say that I am a fan of the subject matter and have been playing traditional pen and paper RPGs since the 70s (ya..Im a old guy).Having said that...POTC is second on my list of BEST X-box game, Steel Battalion being first. I have had little problems with bugs but I hear some people have had alot. Still I would be able to put up with more bugs...that how well I like this game. Altough Im a fan of the subjects of pirates I have also been a Star Wars fan since the first movie(Episode IV) and own and played KOTOR...I'd pick Pirates of the Caribean as the better RPG. KOTOR is a better action/adventure game.
