Wow! Check out this demo video of Far Cry's map editor. It looks amazing. Being able to share user created maps over Xbox Live is really going to extend the lifespan of this game.

What makes FC's map editor look miles better than Pariah's is the fact that Pariah's landscapes and terrain looked super-boring and muddy. With FC, it may only be one location (really), but that location is a spawling hot island with teh awesomez of grafffics!

And the shaping of the terrain is on alot bigger scale to that of pariah.

Just ripping some guy off Gamespot's forums idea, but a good way to test the physics would be to make a huge steep slope and get something like an inflatable boat at the top floating in water, climb in and slide to the bottom where there's a pool of water waiting. That would be fun!

That sounds wicked, a giant water slide ha ha. I am really looking forward to sharing maps.

quote Crispy_BaconThat's cool, but you cant have water on a slope! Water only appears when you dig the land down to sea level. I made the slope as high as it would go, then leveled it off a few feet so Id have room to walk on top. You can ride things off the edge but you usually end up flipping the vehicle and exploding before you reach the water! I set a jet ski at the very edge of the cliff, little did I know, it falls off right as the level starts. I kept wondering why there was a jet ski floating in the water! | |

BTW: He had this idea for the map before the game came out.

Yeah that's kind of a sucky aspect that you can't do that. The physics are so dodgy it probably wouldnt do it anyway.

I downloaded a nice copy of Beaver Creek from Halo 2. If anyone wants it, add Gaping Chasm to your friends list.
