I do not own the game yet so I need to know if I should buy it?

AVOID.

If you own a PC buy the PC version instead.

If you don't own a PC don't buy the xbox version.

If you have both don't bother buying it.

Ive played it round a friends house and it was SHIT in every sense of the word.

That's his opinion. This game is just as great as the PC version was and then some. The AI is upgraded, you has many more abilities, there's more weapons and vehicles to use. It's a great game. If you are still iffy about this game you probably ought to rent it but I can almost guarentee you won't be disappointed.

The thing is with FC PC fans they've expected the Xbox FC to totally surpass the PC version overall. I've only played the demo of FC on the PC, and it's a very good game indeed. Prefering console shooters though with Live and everything Instincts feels more at home for me. Like Dragman said thogh, if you're ever unsure about a game just rent it.

I know Its not going to surpass the PC versions because of hardware limitations but its just really bad compared to other console first person shooters, Perfect dark (n64), goldeneye, halo 1, all them sorts are brilliant first person shooters and IMO far cry doesnt come close to perfect dark even graphically and PD is 5 years old.

By all means give it a rental but if your a die hard FPS fan don't expect to much from this title.


BTW im not just a PC fan, I own all current gen consoles and have only been on PC for a year, and FPS are great on PC and used to be on consoles but i like both the same.

Hmm, are you sure that is what you meant to say? You think that Perfect Dark on the N64 looks better graphically than Far Cry Instincts?

well look at the pistols in far cry, notice the jaggered edge on the weapons? no anti anlising there although the wouldnt be, now go look at the falcon on PD.

for xboxs 256 card and n64s 64bit, id say theres a clear winner.

sure the enemys look better but the AI is awful, in perfect dark you couls hoot weapons out there hands, then they would run and puch you and really defend themselves, unlike instincts where they just stand round and shoot then run away scared, pathetic.

Ive gotta say...he's right, the guns dont look like they even made the effort of making them look better...the environment doesnt look any better...its kinda like the mistake of making Counter Strike: Condition Zero

K this is my choice. Wait 2 months and get a 360 game or get Far Cry now. No "Get both" straight answer.

I just rented it yesterday, I got to the part where you become the predator. So far, I think this game kicks ass. I would say rent it to be safe because everyone has their own opinion!

I like it. Just picked it up and it's cool. The Map maker rules. Haven't played LIVE yet though.
