Forum Rules

I'm trusting that people reading this will know the basic etiquette that you would expect on an Internet forum and I won't need to tell you it.

Flaming/Insults

We've had problems on here before with this, and I won't accept any more. If someone posts a comment that you think insults you or offends you, report it and I'll deal with it if necessary. Don't be drawn into arguments with people, chances are they're just insulting you in the hope of making you argue back. Making derogatory comments about something a seeker has made, like a banner, is also considered flaming.

Spamming

Don't post a load of rubbish that has nothing to do with R&C2, the occasional off-topic post is OK by me, but don't turn it into a big off-topic discussion. I'll admit I've done it in the past, as has almost every other member here but that's no excuse. One-liners are becoming a problem here, and a post which is only 1-line long or doesn't contribute to the discussion is definitely spam.

Memberating

Memberatng is acting like a moderator when you aren't one. This includes requesting thread closures (unless it's your thread), suggesting bans and generally trying to do my job. However, I don't consider friendly advice like "You can find a thread about this discussion already made, it's located here" to be memberating.

Duplicate threads and posts

Try not to post duplicate threads. Use the Forum Search feature to check if the topic you wish to post exists in the Forum already - it's very possible someone already asked your question. (Forum Search is located in the top right of every Forum.) You can also manually check through the pages to see if your thread idea has been done before, or look in the thread index.

Don't post a message if it's already been said before, noone wants to hear the same things twice.

Thread titles

Use short, accurate thread titles. When posting a new thread, it's a good idea to use a short, yet informative title, so it is not too long and other Visitors to the Forum know what your thread is about. Don't make a thread about, say, weapons, and call it 'Waheey!' or something.

Double posting

Try not to double post. If you post additional identical replies/posts by mistake, please delete the duplicate replies by clicking the del link at the bottom of each.(You can only delete your own posts if you were wondering.) Where you need to add more information on to your original reply, click edit at the bottom of your post and add more to it, instead of clicking Reply and creating two replies.

Other accounts

Do not use other accounts to break any of the Forum Rules. I will find out if you do, it's very easy to see who has another account. Please do not attempt to break rules as another Visitor or Unregistered Guest for the purpose of anonymity to avoid punishment. Don't even think about trying to make a new account to get around a ban.

Aiding troublemakers

Do not aid other Visitors to bypass bans. Using your knowledge of the site workings and Moderator tools to help a troublemaker or banned Visitor will get you in a lot of trouble as well.

No porn

Pornographic content is not permitted on this Site. This is a teen-rated game, and porn has nothing to do with it at all. So no posting pics, or posting sexually explicit messages. The odd joke about it is okay, but if it's got some explicit language in it, your post will be deleted and you will receive a warning.

Advertising

Do not advertise other websites. Advertising through posts is strictly forbidden. This may only be done through your personal Profile, Custom Title or Signature. Advertising another website through NeoPM to unsolicited Visitors who you are unknown to, in an attempt to raise traffic, is also not permitted. Members who link to outwar.com or any other type of referral site will lose posting rights on their account permanently. Posting links to screen shots and game-related sites is obviously acceptable though.

Inappropriate banners, avatars etc

Do not use inappropriate avatars, custom titles or signatures. Using any of these site provisions to show sexual imagery or text, profanity, religious, social or personal slandering is a serious offense.

Illegal software and merchandise

Do not attempt to distribute or discuss Warez, ROMs or any other illegal software or counterfeit merchandise. This includes the provision of links to source websites and/or file transfer software for the obtaining of this material. Neoseeker recommends that you buy all your software legally.

Punishment

Failure to comply with these rules will result in a pm warning first, then if the offense is repeated you will receive a final warning, and if you do it again you will be banned.

Depending on the severity of your rule-breaking though, I may just ban you outright.

Will quiz or game threads count as spam?

Well, ABC or word threads cause Spam, quiz threads may cause spam, it depends on what sort of questions have been asked.

Quiz threads are okay-ish, because they usually do promote some sort of answer which you need to think about; but ABC, Word Game and Stupid Q&A threads are just useless, they take no thought at all to post in.

Well, that would be kind of true. I think it would be allowed. It depends on what the forum moderator allows and disallows.

Of course, as of now, it is disallowed, mainly because there is a Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal and Ratchet: Deadlocked forum.
