Part two of the never-ending battle, the thread purpose remains the same. Which games is better, Half-Life 2 or Halo 2.

It doesn't take much for fans of either series to get angry over a different opinion so try not to offend anyone more with unnecessary derogatory comments.

No flaming either, this is about the games, not the fans. Try to be somewhat professional with your opinions.

I enjoy the back and forth debate like stuff that goes on in these threads just don't make it personal. Leave the individual person out of it and instead just counter their remark with something better.

Half-Life 2 vs Halo 2 (Part 1)

Good Call on moving the forum. WOw has this really gone on for thirty pages. My so it has. And there was you saying that HL2 just smashed Halo 2 in discussion and was done with it.

The point is Hank, Halo 2's physics are in no way apart of the gameplay. They're just there. It wouldn't really be any different gameplay wise if there were no physics in Halo 2 it would just be less realistic. In Half-Life 2's part they're more realistic and impact the gameplay in a way never before seen in a video game.

That's true. The one thing that pisses me off is the fact that Bungie didn't utilize the Havok for ragdoll physics, at least TO GREAT EFFECT. I mean, they really suck how they are. If they were like Half-Life's it'd be much more amusing.

I saw "Deux" at the end of the thread title and thought (hoped, actually) that Deus Ex had been added to the discussion. Oh well, if it's only 2 games and I don't own either one, I guess I'll take my crappy PC and PS2 and go back to the corner...

Why is Deux a contraction for Deus Ex that's used often? Or more commonly known, the number two in french.

I haven't played a lot of Half-Life 2 or Halo 2, so my pick would be biased anyway. From what I've played, I enjoyed Deus Ex the most, but I really didn't get into the story of Half Life 2 enough to appreciate it. I just played it over at a buddy of mine's house, who happens to have an amazing PC and was running the game on almost optimum settings. Beautiful game, tight controls, if I had maybe another three or four hours with it I'm sure Half Life 2 would take the cake easily.

I know, Half Life 2's physics are better, I completely agree, but the dude said that Halo 2 had NO PHYSICS and I was telling him that there were. I wasn't comparing the two.

Halo 2 over half life 2 anyday. Can't beat halo 2 live just impossible!

So you're saying Halo2 has a multiplayer and therefore is better than HL²? My question is, have you even played CounterStrike Source or Half-Life² Deathmatch?!

Not to mention the fact HL² has better graphics, more varied gameplay, better physics, better voiceacting... *can go on for ages *
