re: Speed Attributes

they almost never do. maybe a point or two. That's why I always draft speed. All other attributes go up much more.

re: Speed Attributes

If you want speed, draft speed. Speed is not 1 of the attributes that can be improved in the mini-camp.

re: Speed Attributes

Your speed attribute can go up, only during the regular season. My RB went up 2 points in 2 years and now it up to a 98. Draft for speed, I always do. The other attributes can be raised during preseason, or minicamp!
I think I found out how to increase your speed during the year. The more 20, 40, 60, and 80 yard runs you break the more chance you'll have to increase your overall speed. Try it!

Well, that's the general idea every time I run the ball, the only real problem with that is actually doing it. I usually go about 3-7 yards and am taken down. Occasionally I get more, and if I'm lucky I break a big one. So far I average 6.5ypc in 4 seasons. Thanks for the tip, Lupy, it's the most logical one I've heard yet regarding speed.

re: Speed Attributes

my linebackers usually increase in speed, i had nick barnett and he went up in speed like 6 points in 4 years. and my WR's sometimes go up, i think to get WR's speed to go up u need to do WR screens and let him run long(somthing i love to do =) )

re: Speed Attributes

anything 4.3 and below. But with speed you will also need good acceleration which is the shuttle drill i think.

re: Speed Attributes

further proof that speed kills...

I played a game today against the Jets. I held their running game to 3 yards total, not bad, right? The only problem with that is Pennington threw for OVER 600 YARDS!
My secondary isn't that bad, it was a combination of their defense playing so lousy I kept scoring quickly and their receivers blowing right by me occasionally after the catch. They all had speeds of 95+ and high ACC as well. My secondary has an average of 92 speed (highest is 95, lowest 90) all I could do on those plays was watch while the flames shot from their feet on the way to the endzone. I tried everything, Man coverage, zone coverage, a combination of both, and even bumping the WR's at the line of scrimmage... frickin' brutal!!!!

re: Speed Attributes

Rhetorical,

Very well put! You might be able to run over one guy maybe two, but if no one can catch you its irrelevant.
