re: Injuries...

Well, I don't know what hits specifically end a career, but I have seen players retire from injury in this game.

re: Injuries...

The hardest hit i ever laid down on a guy was a blow to a WR that sat him down for 4 weeks. I did not feel bad cuz i was losing anyway LOL. I dont know if you could knock anyone out for their career though.

re: Injuries...

In 2004 you can have a career ending injury. It will tell you if you go to the injury report either in-game or in your rosters menu. I've done 2 seasons and have seen 4 or 5 guys have those types of injuries. No one important, mostly rookies.

re: Injuries...

Talking about Injuries, do you know what the hell of the point to put your play on IR if you know he will be done for the rest of season and you can't sign any one to replace for him any way?

re: Injuries...

I believe IR helps prevent the guy from stat decreases, but I'm not for sure.

I put Greg Biekert of IR when he got a shattered elbow, and he didn't lose any stats. But I think if I just left him as out for season, his stats probably would've declined.

re: Injuries...

Actually I was under the impression that putting a player on IR allowed you to use the $$$$ you were paying him to sign someone else. Basically his salary then isn't counted toward the salary cap. This is only useful if you are very tight under the cap.

re: Injuries...

When aplayer goes on IR, you can use moey to sign another player. It will not count on the salary cap. I think the team gets the insurance policy of 80% of the person on IR's contract for the year.

I have never had a player gone for the season, or a career. 8 weeks is the longest. My QB Bolllinger, with a broken collarbone. A good way to avoid these problems is to hire the best training facility in the off season. I believe it is the Elite Health facility. Lucikly I have not had problems with it.

re: Injuries...

I didn't know about the contracts, signings and the attribute. Thanks guys. However, it's not what I asked though.
In the real game, if you put some one on the IR list, you will able to sign a free agent to replace him without cutting any current players on your roster. That's not happening in Madden, if you put a player in IR, the computer still wouldn't let you sign any free agent without cutting some one in your current roster. That really pisses me off.

re: Injuries...

Putting a player on the IR also frees up space in the roster, so you can have more than 55. At least I think so.

re: Injuries...

Haha, yeah I had one hit that Ray Lewis hit Chad Pennington so hard that his helmet came off and he was injured for career with a broken vertebrate... Otherwise, I have injured people for the season alot, but no other Career enders.

One time in the sixteenth game of a season my wide reciever was blocking for my running back and he hit Eric Warfield so hard he ended his career.
