Favre puts it all on the line every play. I'll tell you right now he would not have his numerous seasons of 30+TDs if he didn't throw some passes which seemed crazy. Interceptions are a part of Favre's game, and when he goes to the sideline, he doesn't get flak for throwing most of them, cause the coaches ask him to try and make stuff happen.
I'm not saying Big Ben is a flop at all. It's just in the Draft the best thing to have is a sure thing, and although it doesn't exist, you go for the surest thing you can get, and Eli's family gives him more of a guarantee. I'm still a big fan of the TE position. And maybe someone will be able to put up stats like Gonzo someday, but for now he is king. Hail to the king, baby. Bullwinkle P.S. WHy the hell do I want the Chargers to get a Manning. The last thing I want is a Manning in the AFC East. I say they trade with the Giants for...Barber!!! ------------------- Hey, uh, what's that on your face?

Sooooo
Where does everyone think Kurt Warner will wind up? He is going to get his walking papers from the Rams in June. I know it seems a bit of a stretch with their cap and all, but Miami could be an interested party in regards to Warner. They havent had a really good passer since Marino left. Kurt Warner can throw the ball, he just cant move. Right now, I think Warner is better than Jay Fiedler, or AJ Feely, who they just brought in. Also, in Miami's scheme, Warner wouldnt have to put the ball up 40 times a game like he did in St Louis, because he would have Williams behind him to run the ball. I think the biggest part of Warner's downfall is that he was asked to throw the ball way too much with an offensive line that couldnt protect him. When you make a target out of a guy and he takes that many shots, injuries happen. To his credit, he tried to play through them, but just wasnt effective. But, with the Sam Madison cap situation, getting Warner might not be possible for the Dolphins. But I think it would be a great move for that team if they were to pick him up. Or there is the chance he goes to the Chicago Bears, to work in ex Chiefs QB coach Terry Shea's offensive scheme, which will be much like that of the KC/St Louis offensive plan. They have already improved the offensive line a great deal, and could protect Warner, but have no running attack to speak of. Also, they have Rex Grossman, who did pretty well for himself last year, so Warner could be a bit of a stretch for them. What do you guys think?

What about Dallas? Or Tampa, I heard there's some uncertainty with Johnson down there. Maybe San Diego will get him....HMMMMMM!!!! Besides, Warner would have to change his number if he went to Miami, and that's WAAAY too much effort.

Miami seems like a good fit, but they haven't had good luck with getting QBs and i dont think they are going to try their luck again and use the cap room.
I see him going to maybe 49ers, Arizona, or Oakland

I could see Warner landing in San Diego or Arizona, depending on what San Diego does in the draft. I have a feeling that the Chargers trade down with either the 'Skins, the Giants or the Browns. I could actually see the Chagers trading down to the Browns and landing Tim Couch from them. (Yes, I know, bad move on the'Bolts part, but that's just the way they do business... they're dumb.) Or they could trade down and take Kerry off the Giants hands, although I don't see that either since the Giants don't want to get rid of him until after the draft, because they want Gallery more than a QB. However, the 'Skins could be a lucrative team to trade with for them. They could get so much from the 'Skins.
Although I could see the Chargers picking Eli as well, since they probably won't go with Big Ben. But, what I hear from the grapevine is that the Chargers are still interested in Brees, and want to continue to give him a shot. They could end up drafting a WR. If they trade down however, I see them picking up either Sean Taylor, or Will Smith. They need an impact defensive player, and those two could be immediate contributors. It's unfortunate that they let Wiley fly the coop this season, because if he was sided with Will Smith, he wouldn't get double teamed the whole time, and they'd have two pass rushing threats that would just KILL the opposing QB. Oh, and from all the mock drafts I've seen, I see the Vikings taking an O-Lineman... PLEASE DON'T MAKE IT SO!! We don't need an O-Lineman! We need a LB.... I want them to trade up and grab Vilma. They could probably ship off Biekert, he's consistent enough to couple with their first round pick and be able to get up I think.... They need a quick LB, either Vilma or Williams will do. -------------------

well lets slow up on the where could Warner end up, Mike Martz came out today n stated that this was a miss understanding. Releasing him was only n option, To me all this looks like they might wanna dangle warner as trade bait during the draft. If everyone knows Kurt will be released offering him as part of a package doesn't work. But if you think they might actually keep him then you might find a sucker who wants a 33 year old QB with a bad thumb.

IF Warner leaves, I don't see him ending up in Arizona, since Dennis Green has stuck by McCown and said he doesn't want to draft a QB, released his starting QB, and hasn't pursued any of the free agent QBs out there. IF Warner goes, I think it is more likely to SD or SF, likely a warmer climate team (TB as well, I guess. They seem to be linked to everyone). Doubt it would be Oakland--Al Davis seems to have gotten smarter and is no longer just throwing $ around.

quote SmilezDavisTrue, but Biekert is slowly being shifted out of the defense by E.J. Henderson anyways. If we could trade him, and our 1st round pick to move up in the draft, then I think we should, since he's slowly moving past his prime, well, speedwise, and that's what killed us last year, we had slow linebackers... -------------------

On the thought of Warner leaving the Rams will most likely not happen, or so it seems now with Martz's statement. However if he does leave it might be wise of the chargers to nab him. They trade down and get Ben or Rivers, Warner is there as a Mentor as well with him and they could get a few possible picks or players to fill their other holes they have.
But I think the Chargers might actually not make a dumb move this year. They might actually make some good moves on D-Day. Now wouldn't that be amazing. Edit: Also to Bullwinkle why should the Chargers trade down with the Giants and ask for Barber? They have LT, why would they take such an unneccessary casualty. That would be the mistake on D-Day but I don't think they would slip that low. This message was edited by goldensteelix on Apr 21 2004. -------------------

First off Marty loves Philip Rivers, so if he trades down that's his guy. What they would be asking the Giants for is a 4th rounder n most likely Ike Hillard (who has been mentioned as trade bait) n maybe even some later round pick.
Personally I am confused on what Oakland wants, the new trend is Gallery (As far as what the experts say) but that dosen't make much sense we just spent a wad of cash to keep Barry Sims n Badger. Langston will take over for Kennedy, so why go for Gallery? Are recievers need an upgrade this is Jerry n Tim's last year (cut or retire, hopefully retire). Leaving J.P with a bunch of nobody's running oppisite of him (alvis whitted, Doug Gaberial) if no one wants to trade just take Roy (Since Al loves the guy) don't settle for a reciever in the 2nd. If that's the guy our scouts decided as the best then go get him.

quote goldensteelixDude, it was a joke. I'm a Chiefs fan, that's just what I want to see, a total waste of pick. It sucks that the two top picks are going into the AFC west. and the Chiefs are stuck with the worst pick of any non-Super Bowl team.
