quote rock5505 Ha. Yeah right. Vermiel drafted this guy to play all over the place. Mostly as another Fullback, because Tony Richardson isnt getting any younger, and his shoulder problems are well chronicled. He can even play a little wide reciever in a pinch as well, and also plays great on special teams. He can really do a lot of things for us. One of the best things I liked when Vermiel was interviewed, is that he can line up at fullback, and motion to the TE spot if we need him too, and then the defense cant get a nickel back in there in time, so we can create a mismatch with him there. Or if we just come out with a big, 2 TE set and need passing yards, we can play him instead of Jason Dunn, who is primarily a blocker. Dunn can make some catches, but he is predominantly a blocking Tight End. This guy gives us some options in the big set as well. He could even shift out to slot reciever on occaision. He's been brought in to do several different things for us, not just play tight end. The way Vermiel thinks, who knows what this guy could end up doing for us.

WOW the packers had a horrible draft. I like their first round pick, even though i am pissed they did not try to get will smith or udeze when they were slipping like crazy. They just stunk up the rest of the draft. I was fine with the trading down, gettin a bunch of picks, but then they dont take some good talent they could have helped them. Like Randy starks(some said packers would get him in the first! could have gotten him in the 3rd), Will Poole, Matt Ware. and trading up in the 3rd for a Punter... WTF IS THAT! AHHHH
And what happened to the madden commercials? i saw the advertisement all the time but i only saw the actual playing of it once, and it was corey dillon for the patriots.

Well I'm very happy with the Falcons draft. We needed DeAngelo Hall, and it sounds like WR Michael Jenkins was a good pickup (not sure what other opinons are about this guy), similar size to Finneran, sounds like his top speed is faster, but acceleration sounds about the same....and sounds like his skill's at over the shoulder catches are impressive.
Hall and Vick add instant team chemistry, I like that. And Hall said he wants to be the next Deion Sanders, and he wants to wear his number....I like that a lot. And with drafting another QB I guess Kittner and Johnson can take the hint. And from what I was reading, there is a chance that Mike Williams could return to college football. And he has also filed a lawsuit against the NFL. More Info - http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2340198 They said that was a record number of WRs picked in the first round. -------------------

Coooool.
The Chiefs have made a deal with the Eagles to bring Offensive lineman John Welbourne to Kansas City. This guy will be the most likely to replace John Tait for us, over Chris Bober or Marcus Spears. Welbourne has started 56 games for the Eagles, which if Im not mistaken is more starts than Bober and Spears starts combined. I know we gave up our fifth rounder this year, but I dont remember what else was in the deal. I think this is a good move for our offensive line.

my break down of the packers draft...
Should we be mad at carolina for beating he vikings now? We could have gotten Udeze! i admit ive been overly harsh on the packers draft. 1. CB Ahmad Carroll - Very good player, he has the speed ive been waiting for the packers to add to their corners. With the contact down field being a situation among the reffs, speed is even more valuable. I would have rather had Udeze though. Carroll has awsome character, but a little short. can return kicks. lacks some experience because he could not practice in the spring due to track. 2. Traded out of it. I. I think they should have taken Odom. but they did get good value for it. Got jag's 70(3) , 72(3),102(4),153(5) from 55(2), 86(3), 118(4). 3a. CB Joey Thomas- About the same as Carroll except not quite as good and not as fast, but a few inches taller. Is a good pick, but not after they pick Carroll, He would have been perfect with Udeze. 3b. DT Donnell Washington- Fast for his size, word is he may play some power end. Was projected higher then 3rd.Maybe he can drop a few pounds to increase his quickness and endurence, if he stays at DT he could gain some pounds and lose little, if any speed. 3c. 87(3) trade from miami for the 4th(102) and 5th(153) from Jags. P B.J. Sander-I dont really know that much about him. packers really needed a punter because they have yet to fill the starting position. I think this is a reach though. One thing i love about this kid is hes left-footed. this can cause some problems for opposing players on punt returns, onside kick recovery, and kick off returns(if he kicks off). He did not play college in 2002, I dont know why...?? He had to compete for the job a lot, did not start in his ifirst year 1999, and 2001. People say he was the best in the draft. 6. trade from 49ers 179(6) for 188[from dallas for T. Genn](6)and 226 (7). DT Corey Williams - not quite as big and fast as D. washington. has some durability problems. He is raw and needs some coaching. I dont see a need for him really. When i saw they traded up i really thought they were going to get Isaac Hilton. 7. C Scott Wells- I dont know much about him. He is versitle, he can play gaurd as well as center. Was originally a gaurd but moved to center. He is stronge, holds his school bench press record, did 33 strength reps. He is very mature. he is said to be very consistent. He lacks some size at 6'1" 300lbs. Started every play for the past 4 years. Needs to get quicker if hes going to pull and move around more. Needs to work on technique. Some things to note are -picks 1 and 3 started half of their freshman year, and every game since then. -pick 7 played every game in his 4 years. -pick 6 played half his freshman year, but missed 2 starts in 02 and 2 in 03. All of the above picks have a lot of game time experience, and this may have been one of the reasons Mike Sherman had them graded higher because he wants people to have an impact right away. =trade info= Packers traded 55(2) 86(3) 118(4) 188(6) 226(7) Value= 588.1 for 70(3) 72(3) 87(3) 179(6) Value= 645.8 in 2 trades up 1 trade down --Which is very good, 2 trade up and only 1 trade down and you come out with a much better value. note- All but 2 picks were used in a trade. Packers had a total of 13 different picks(not at the same time). The 2 picks not used in the trade were the first rounder 25 overall, and the compensatory pick in the 7th at 251 overall

quote LaStChInEsEHeRoMan, as a Giants fan, I totally agree. They totally overpaid. My only gues is that there is enough talent on that team that they figure they can give up their first round pick next year and get away with it, I sure hope they're right and Eli turns out to be as good as they (and I) think he can be. On the upside (and Madden related note), this will be the fist in many years where I don't have to run out and grab a new QB in my first offseason to replace the immobile force called Kerry Collins. Uh oh, does this mean I won't get a first round pick in my first offseason? Will Madden be that up to date? Geez, this could be a rough start in Madden 2005... Holy Shit.
Richard Seymour Sr, father of New England Patriots DE Richard Seymour, shot and killed his girlfriend early Sunday morning, and then turned the gun on himself. Police found the bodies of Seymour and his girlfriend, Coretta Meyers about a block away from her residence at 2:50 am Sunday morning. The woman had several gunshots to her upper body, and Seymour had one gunshot wound to his head. Damn. Tough break for Richard Seymour. Things get going really well for him with the Patriots, and now he has this going on. The media can be brutal in such situations as well, we will have to see if he can overcome this situation and still play at the same level he did before. As for Kerry Collins, the guy is just asking to be released, saying he would not renegotiate the 7 million dollar contract. Maybe he wants to move on. I would think that if he wanted to stay, he would agree to a restructuring of his contract.

I would like to give some love to my boys Kelvin Millhouse who is a Dolphin and Hyrum Peters who was picked up by the 49ers. HOnestly I don't know who Kevin Jackson is from Hawaii a DE. But Hawaii has 1 more note worthy player in Free agency Jermiah Cockheran Timmy Chang favorite target last year. Jermiah has very good size 6'0 185 with 4.5 speed, I think he will make some team very happy.

God damn!!!When dallas traded down i thought they were *bleep*s for not taking Steven Jackson, but i was l;ooking at vids of Julius Jones and they got one hell of a pick, that guy is good, i think he will defidentley(sp) next season instead of Cason or Hambrick, and it looks like Jesse Palmer's luck just got better, because if Collin's is cut then if Eli is doing bad they might have to put in Jesse Palmer

I think dallas should have taken Jackson. He has great speed for his size and good balance. Julius Jones isn't a bad pick up though, hes a quick little guy.

When Collins was interviewed the other day I had a feeling he was paying lip service. What I read for the interview was, "Sure, I'd like to finish out my contract, but only if I start." Well, it turns out that's exactly what he meant. I can't blame him, but I was hoping he'd stick around and start. I hate throwing rookie QB to the wolves their first year. I think you run the risk of making them gunshy and skittish if you do that, the NFL is a totally different speed than college. I feel that players like Grossman and Pennington show how beneficial warming the bench can be to a young QB, especially when the Giants OL is questionable because they've never really played together or anything. I know they strengthened the OL this offseason but Eli could be in for a long year if they don't play well together. Once again, I sure hope the Giants brass knows what they're doing here and not cowtowing to the rabid Giants fans in New York...

Hey Guys,
I noticed the Titans picked up RB Jarrett Payton from Miami (Fla.).... He is Walter Payton's son..... apparently he must be good to make it to the NFL, but I have never even heard of this guy before.... I guess mainly because I hate college football .... but anyway is this guy any good? We are looking for a replacement for Eddie George because he is wanting more money than what hes worth.... could this be him? -------------------
