Your Favorite BGM?

Good music literally makes or breaks a game; what do you think about LoI?
What was your favorite BGM(s)?

The “House of Sacred Remains,” “Ghostly Theatre” and “Garden Forgotten by Time” [yes, I agree Michiru Yamane] as new compositions were great and sounded like they belong to the ‘Castlevania genre’. But “Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab” was among my favorites.
Did anyone feel that “Lament of Innocence (Leon’s theme)” had a disco feel?

These title selections came from the ‘Sound’ option which appears after you buy the music box.

re: Your Favorite BGM?

I pretty much liked all of them except the Anti_soul stage and the 2nd floor of the pagoda stage, the anti soul stage just didn't fit in, This is Castlevania not Castle-funkenstien.

my favorites are when you 1st enter the castle, ghostly theter 2nd floor and the Dark Palace of waterfall stage has a nice little piano tid bits in it

I couldn't help but think they just jazzed up some of the themes from Super Castlevania 4 on the snes, oh well that works just fine with me, but I still think it was better on the snes.

There's a very good reason for that...
Namely that they really DID jazz up the old tunes...

They do that in almost every castlevania game...

For example...
"Blood relations" features in CV64, in an orchestral form, and in SOTN in a jazzy form... And perhaps in the older games too...

Hey, can anyone find any MIDI or MP3 (or WAV) files on the internet from this game? I wanna hear the music, but the game won't be out in the UK for quite a while...

Goddamm evil game companies...

re: Your Favorite BGM?

Everyone complains about the Lab music, but I liked it. It moves, and I don't really think it's that far off from the norm; there has been CV music in the past that wasn't all organs and cellos, guys.

As far as sound clips of the music goes, I'm sure you'll be able to find it soon. Konami is supposedly releasing a "collector's version" of the game that includes several things, the best of which is a soundtrack of the game.

Check out Kazaa or something similar over the next couple weeks; it's probably already online.

re: Your Favorite BGM?

My personal favorites are Lament of Innocence and Dark palace of Waterfalls.

Alot of people dislike the lab music and i think that is because we are thinking that the music is supposed to be dark, and creepy (like other areas) and the upbeat tempo just doesn't do it for us. But if you think about it, the entire level has roaring flames and stuff that just has a strong feel to it. Music like the ones found in other areas of the castle just wouldn't fit right so they pumped it up a bit and I think it suits the levels nature very well.

re: Your Favorite BGM?

I'm with the lot of y'all, most of the music was in keeping with the Castlevania franchise. I'm hardly a conniseur of the musical arts, but I do know that I liked "House of Sacred Remains", "Garden Forgotten by Time", and "Ghostly Theatre". That last one especially reminded me a lot of Jeremy Soule's (sp?) stuff from the not-bad SNES RPG Secret of Evermore for some reason, must be the beginning part of the tune. "Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab" wasn't too bad, at the very least it put a smile on my face because the whole time I was in the level I kept thinking of the 80's Real Ghostbusters movies (don't ask).

I felt "Lament of Innocence" struck the best balance between Castlevania and "Castle Funkenstein" out of the available tracks, and as a result I liked that one a lot too. I always felt that the final level in a game should see the player he/she taking out hordes of enemies in a show of the hero's unbridled power enroute to the final boss while inspirational BGM motivates the player, and I can safely say that I was satisfied in this regard for the most part.

Battle tracks weren't as good overall, but I did like the one when you fight Joachim. Too bad he couldn't beat me... TO A PULP!

re: Your Favorite BGM?

Here's the link Lament Music, you'll need to sign up with Game Spy, but even then you wont be able to download them, so you'll have to pay for a $6.95 membership, seeing that fee you're probably having other thoughts, but these are original music from the game, not crappy Midi's

YES! The MP3s work!

Hey, guess what? That site you told me about...
It turns out that I CAN download the files for free.

And therefore, I can tell you that the track "Lament of Innocence" is great!

I want to hear Dark Night Toccata - Walters Theme

but the bloody thing doesn't work. What's it like?

Wait... YES! It works now!

Dark Night Toccata.... kicks all that is ass!

I have to get this game...

Or... I could rip all the MP3s, and put them into Morrowind! MUAHAHAHHAHA!

What do you mean download for free? the site made me pay about $7 to become a member and download that stuff, you must have hacked or something, and also, what do you mean can't wait to get this game? don't you already have it?
