With images that also contain a link, is it possible to remove the blue border around them?

No, I'm afraid there's no way to remove the blue border around image links. =^^=

 Technically, there is a way around to this. It would only work if you're viewing and using firefox. Those using firefox would see the linked image without a border. Just put the [img link=][/img] in between the indent tags. which will look like this.
