	Gemkit's not in the story yet... Chapter 1 A New Beginning Brambleshadow heard pawsteps. She turned sharply, and relaxed when she relaised it was only Minttail. "Your vigil is over now, Brambleshadow," Minttail mewed softly. "It will never be the same again," Brambleshadow mewed, "Without Nettlestar, everything'll change!" "Are you ready?" The two cats turned to see Spottedband padding up to them. "Ready?" Brambleshadow blinked. "Surely you haven't forgotten!" Spottedband flicked her tail in amusment, "You have to go to the Moonstone!" "Why?" Spottedband sighed. "Because you're the new Clan leader!" "Really?" "Yes." 	Read the sig, Brambleshadow, read the sig... Chapter 2 The Moonstone Brambleshadow padded out of camp, refusing to take any warriors with her. She curled up by the moonstone, the moonlight making it glow brightly. "Brambleshadow?" "Nettlestar is that you?" Brambleshadow called out into the darkness. "Yes it is. We are her to give you your nine lives." "We?" Brambleshadow echoed, "Who's we?" "Us..." As Nettlestar finished, 8 more cats appeared before Brambleshadow's eyes. Before she knew it, she was granted nine lives. "Bramblestar! 	Chapter 4 Fox! Goldheart prowled through the undergrowth, her eyes and ears alert for danger. She heard the sound of a mouse, and quickly pounced on it. But before she could kill it, she saw a pair of glowing yellow eyes staring at her from the bushes. To her horror, more eyes appeared. Letting go of the mouse, she turned tail and ran back to camp, the yellow eyes close in pursuit. "Bramblestar!"e yowled once within earshot, "We're under attack! By foxes!" "Call the warriors!" Bramblestar ordered, "Attack!" Bramblestar gave the yowl of war, and Spottedband, Silvertail and Minttail ran out of their dens. All the cats attacked the foxes, but an unfamiliar scent wafted up into Bramblestar's scent glands. She turned and ran towards the scent. She stopped short when she came to the entrance of her camp. Lying in the way, torn and bleeding, was a small grey scrap of fur.
