re: Solid Snake's Hair Color |

Well, in Metal Gear for Nintendo, snake had brown hair, and in MG2: solid snake, he had brown hair. So why did they make it blonde in Metal Gear for Playstation? I think they just change things to their liking sometimes, contradicting past events.

They didn't change things to their liking.
They didn't forget that Snake's hair was blond They never changed his hair to blond. Solid and/or Liquid Snake never dyed any of their hair colors (why would they do that?!). It was just the lighting effect in the briefing session that made Snake's hair look blond. Solid Snake having the dominant genes meant that he had the dominant war capability genes that Big Boss had. Having dominant hair color genes has nothing to do with that. You see, the dominant gene is the gene that shows up (whether physically or mentally) and the recessive gene hides in the body. The recessive gene is also passed on to other offspring (for example if Snake decided to have kids) and both the dominant and recessive genes will be passed to the children and can either transform to the other side (recessive to dominant/ dominant to recessive) but will be passed regardless. This doesn't mean that blond was dominant or if it was recessive. We don't know unless Hideo Kojima wants to tell us. But it's not that big a deal.

nope.
Snake got brown hair,u can see from his eyebrows(is that right? i dont know english well) i think the blonde hair was only in the briefing to underline that he seems liquid and because the room is dark. oh,and big boss too got brown hair quote Alias353but maybe, big boss got recessive genes from his parents, maybe they was blonde, and his grand parents was 1 blonde and 1 dark "haired" quote Soliquidus Snakeaight thats right, and maybe thats why liquid thinks that solid is the dominant This message was merged with other messages by staticfire (moderator)

The point I think is that it does not matter, by the way. The video was black and white so maybe that had something to do with it. But does hair really matter. And I don't understand why everyone is so confused but hey I've played every game.
Oh and by the way, "SNAKE!??!!" is the inferior one. Dude you seriously have to understand something. Big Boss could not of got rescessive genes because his mother and father actually had him. His genes were fine. The Snakes were cloned and actually though there were I think 7 others including Solidus (Who was not revealed at the time) and Liquid and Solid were the dominants. But, Liquid Snake was the stronger. May I reminf you Snake never reallly defeated Liquid Snake...FoxDie did. And even then he now is still alive!!! Snake himself will eventually die from FoxDie as well as Meryl and Otacon. It is an inevitable. Wether it will be expressed in a game is doubtful, it wouldn't be to fun having the hero's die on you while your playing...would it? This message was edited by Audiobank on Jun 01 2005.

I know that Snake is not Solid Snake in MGS3, its big boss, im saying everyone is arguing that Solid is blonde well I think he dyed his hair to not look like Liquid, thats why he has blonde streaks in his hair, because he probably was blonde himself, and before he went in to Shadow Moses, he cut and dyed his hair to not look like Liquid, but that's just my opinion.

It's just a continuity error. It's that simple. Arguing about it is useless.
As great as the MGS story as a whole is, it still has its share of holes and inconsistencies.

quote maistothat was a year ago when i posted that ^^^^^^ yup.. me and you Jaycee were part of the beginning of this thread a year ago......... i say just let it be.. a continuity error.. nothing more..... no need to argue about the DNA facts or what brand did Solid Snake used to dye hair.. this is my last response on this thread........ just let it die.... no need to continue pointless debate that has been going on for a year on this forum...

If u look closley at snakes hair during the cut scenes u will see faint high lites of blonde like he just quickly dyed his hair and missed bits and pieces of his hair. he probably did dye his hair before the briefing probably at his house. or w/e.

quote Vito RaliffeHave you played MGS on the PS? He has brown hair in the game. Snake has NEVER been blonde even in the original MG games. Even his collectable figures give him dark brown hair. re: Solid Snake's Hair Color |
quote emilie72793I always considered it to be grey. Furthermore, to the person saying that Snake is the recessive one, blah blah blah, the science isn't realistic at all, it's a well known fact that dark hair is dominant to blonde hair, so on that basis you can't use the science in this game to answer the question at hand. -------------------

No, if you had watched after the credits you would have known that Liquid was made to believe that he was the twin with the recessive genes when actually he was the one with the Dominant genes which makes Solid Snake's dark hair a recessive trait, which means that he could never be blond and the odd hair color in the briefing scene was most likely caused by the fluorescent lighting in the medical room he was in while getting the shots for the mission and in addition to that the tape they used to record the briefing you can clearly see that is in black and white, so the reason that his hair looks blond is due to the effect that the lighting had on his hair and the black and white camera pick it up as a bright color making it look like it was blond, see there always a rational explanation for every thing in the MGS world.
